Hello people of the escapist, recently my favorite youtuber did gameplay of source mods, so I got curious and started to download some source mods. most of them were amazing like The Hidden, The The Stanley Parable and Zombie Panic! Source.

So I ask you people of the escapist, what are your favorite source mods?

Here's what I wrote in the PC Gamers group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-PC-Gamers] recently.

I would say things like NeoTokyo, but I'm not sure how populated those mods are.

A few I can remember and enjoyed though are Blind Monks Society [http://www.moddb.com/mods/blind-monks-society], where you play a blind person and have to navigate a short journey via sound.

1187 [http://www.moddb.com/mods/1187] which plays just like more Half Life, with a few things like iornsights added. It's set inbetween HL1 and HL2 where the aliens are just starting to expand out of Black Mesa, and don't play or (IIRC) meet anyone from Half Life games (might need Ep2 for that one).

Riot Act [http://www.moddb.com/mods/riot-act] is basically more HL2, nothing awesome nothing crap, just "more".

Then there's Dear Esther [http://www.moddb.com/mods/dear-esther] that got turned into that full game mildly recently.

I've played more but can't remember them right now, play Half Life 2 before these though, and the Episodes.
Edit: Also Black Mesa, but chances are you've heard of that one as well.

Well, with Black Mesa just having been released, I'll have to say that's my favourite Source mod. It's amazing, it really is. It's basically HL1 remade with the Source engine, though expanded and lots of small details in it, in case you haven't heard about it.

Another mod I'd to mention is Minerva: Metastasis. It's set on a small island with a high Combine concentration and you're sent to investigate why. It's got the high level design quality of Valve, but instead of horizontal it's vertical, meaning you'll go down instead, which is a cool, different approach of doing it. It's so good in fact, that the guy behind the mod was hired by Valve, after he finished it.

Dear Esther is also worth checking out, as mentioned by DazZ.

Other mods I haven't played yet, but heard good things about are Mission Improbable and 1187, though that'll be remedied soon(ish), but I've heard good things about both.
