it was originally built to evacute the earth but was re-purposed into the flagship of the earth,s space fleet.

While I do love the Sovereign class (as you said: sexy curves) I think my vote is more for the Intrepid class (a la Voyager). Just a personal preference.

Also the Leviathan from Eve Online. Thing looks like it was hewn from a mountain!

Her weapons and systems may be a bit outdated and primitive by sci-fi standards, but she has armour that can withstand a direct freaking nuclear hit, and those "primitive" systems are hardened against cyber attack.

Ah yes, the old girl herself. Freaking cried when her end came... D:

She's a tough old bird, granted she has no las weapons but damn she fight with the best of them.

Armament:

Varies by amount and type based on player preferance and upgrades, but it can carry a max of 6x forward firing weapons and 5x flexible turrets.

Interesting notes:

When the ship absorbs (yes, absorbs) alien artifacts hidden in the universe (which it can detect them), the ship grows. That is not a figure of speech, it GROWS. LITERALLY GETS BIGGER! It always stays the same relative size (think Millienium Falcon size), but its wings, body, and engines GROW BIGGER based on how the player chooses to upgrade the ship.

Upgrading the wings allows carrying of more forward firing weapons (max 6) and increases manuveralbility.

Upgrading the Body increases hitpoints, allows more equipment (landing computers, cargo drones, scan jammers, etc.) to be carried, and allowes more turrets (max 5) on the ship.

Upgrading the engines makes the ship faster, and allows for powerful power systems, which do everything from make shilds last longer, give weapons more power, and increase afterburner times.
