Space Flight Games

After reading Yahtzee's Extra Punctuation on Space Flight games, I wanted to know what your favourite space combat game is, and why you love it.

Mine would have to be Tie Fighter. Why do I love it? Because you can fly a Tie Defender and a Missile Boat, both of which are capable of decimating Rebel Fleets on their own.

So, what's your favourite Space Sim?

EVE. It's...well, it's just good.

Well, space combat is the only one with real physics, but that is all it has.
I reeeaaally liked Rouge Squadron and its sequels, wing commander, and a few others my brain cannot remember.

 

[More Fun To Compute]

Frontier Elite 2. Very few games feel that they are trying hard enough to pretend to be in space after playing that. Space Combat and other sims might be more realistic but Frontier is good enough and is fun.
