I was going to post some snide comment on how the Blood Angels are only supposed to have a 1000 fighting chaps anyway and dropping to 50 should make them combat ineffective for at least six decades...
But It looks like other posters have beaten me to it! Many thank to all of you enthusiasts. I learn more every day!
On the subject of the game: Space Hulk is an excellent title for the first few hours, when the tension and suspense of not knowing where the next genestealer double-flank is. After a few levels, though, an alert player can figure out the patterns and the game loses most of its horror appeal. The overall story is rather average, too. Nothing immensely shaking or jaw-dropping.
Overall, a fair timestealer.

That trailer was so utterly boring. I was excited about this game, it seemed interesting, good turn based strategy. This trailer is so dull it nearly killed any interest I had, with that bland voice acting, and trudging cinematic. I think they were aiming at tense and creepy, but they missed entirely.
As long as the game mechanics are sound and the game is fun I couldn't give a rat's ass about how good the cinematics are. I play games to PLAY games, not sit on my ass watching a movie. I find it a sad commentary that these days more and more games are judged by the parts of them that aren't actual game play. Which to me makes as much sense as judging it solely by the box art.

I think the Dark Angels also managed to get around the "1,000 marines per chapter" rule by making sure every Chapter descended from them all have Azrael as Chapter Master.
Errr... not exactly.

Azrael is only the current Supreme Chapter Master not the original one.

The way they're organised is that every Unforgiven Chapter Master is, essentially, subordinate to the Supreme Chapter Master... and until the fluff changes, it's been that way since the 2nd Founding (Guilliman's Reforms breaking up the Legions). So basically they all go about doing their own thing unless the SCM decides Shit Needs Doing by more than one Chapter. Now if only they could stay consistantly Dark and Secretive from Codex to Codex instead of intermittent forays into be the Whiny Emo Marines.

Whatever, I only ever started playing Dark Angels marines because they're British Racing Green.
Iirc in current edition fluff the Dark Angels and successor chapters are all currently en route to the Eye of Terror as part of a massive pseudo-legion fleet (Codex be damned) to sort shit out over there (A Black Crusade is going on). The "Voice of the Emperor" [http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Voice_of_the_Emperor], a figure that appeared before the crusade and starting stirring shit up in preparation for it, is rumoured to be one of the fallen. It's hoped by me rumoured that the fallen in question might even be Cypher making his long awaited return to the fluff.

Needless to say, Dark Angels are losing their shit over capturing the guy.

"Initiating Operation: Nuke Space Hulk From Orbit."

"Honor demands-"

"No, no, I'm pretty sure honor is satisfied with complete nuclear incineration."

I suppose the new Space Hulk game could be pre-Heresy and it would still fit canon.
The tyranids were not encountered until FAR after the heresy. They are a fairly recent find lore wise. The ravenor series deals with the first encounter humanity ever has with tyranids due to time warping shenanigans and even then they only see like 4 termigaunts.

Losing all but 50 marines is rediculous. 950 gene seeds lost? I will NEVER understand why they dont give EVERY marine apothecary training and the means to store gene seed. Its a precious resource and no one seems to give a shit about preserving every single one.

Losing 950 Astartes could mean the loss of 1,900 gene seeds, each Marine has two. The one he is implanted with when he is converted from a human and one that grows within him over time. I said could lose though because the second gene seed is often removed between campaigns as soon as it reaches maturity, losing most of a Chapter like that would lose somewhere between 950 and 1,900 gene seeds. Chapters do have large numbers of gene seed in storage, if worst came to the worst and they where facing dissolution they could always beg either their successors or the Adeptus Terra to hand some over as well.

@ Those upset about Canon, the Sin of Damnation disaster is canon by the way.

I disagree, a half assed shitty trailer is a show of how much effort they put into a game. Turns out, the game was half assed and pretty crappy, so I guess my assessment of the trailer was correct unfortunately.
