As for the trailer.
I'll put it this way.
Pre-rendered cinematics usually tell you next to nothing about a game.
But when you're pre rendered cinematic looks WORSE that a fan made mod for Fallout 3 that runs in real time, you seriously need to go back to the drawing board.
Quite frankly, it's barely better than the CG for the original game. Also, if you could direct me to this mod it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

So iOS for this but no Android??? Makes me a sad panda, this seems like the perfect game to play on my galaxy note 2. I guess I can hope for it right? Even then I can play it on my PC.

Those are some weak graphics compared to the Amiga version. The only serious gaming rig. :p

The guy who recorded it really need to invest in a harddrive though, those are some icky loading times. Oh the torment of floppy gaming.
Ouch. Although I suppose he was happy to sit through those loading times, secure in the knowledge that as an Amiga user he was getting a far superior end product.

You know, I've played all the Dawn of War games, played Space Marine, play the WH40k Table Top RPG Dark Heresy.
But its the music played in the cinematics that plays in my head the entire time.

Gothic Pipe Organs with a dark techno beat. That pretty much sums up WH40k in a nice musical shorthand.

Does anyone know if a higher quality version of that exist?
Does someone have a recording of that in a more modern Midi Player maybe?
Not for the original, I don't think. Possibly for the later Blood Angels one, but I'm not sure.

A decent recording of the music from the Amiga. I haven't heard about any remakes of the score.

Sometimes one would need a really good imagination to tell the difference. In honesty I think Space Hulk was a copy/paste job between the ports.

It was, I just can't stop myself from poking fun at Amiga users.

More turn-based strategy titles on the way? And with a splash of 40k in the mix? Someone pinch me, I think I'm dreaming.

Since when do nice things happen in the game industry?

Looking forward to some more info on this one. I've got the original board game, but I'm curious if there are going to be some edits to the "rules" for the video game. Table-top matches tended to be very one-sided depending on the objective and you could usually guess who would win before you started I found.

I'm starting to think I might need to send Fireaxis some hamper baskets if this trend keeps up.

How appropriate.
Not always the case. It all depends on differant things for differant armies. Tyranids need to be in close combat by turn 3 at the latest, Eldar and Dark Eldar need to go first and have a good round of shooting, Tau...Tau just lose all the time, Imperial Guard need to be placed on the board for them to win though.

As for how the rules would work in game it would be nasty. Even if a Genestealer got close it would have a 50% chance of missing its attacks, a 50% chance of not wounding with those it did hit and finally those wound would be negleted 5 times out of 6.

The terminators on the other hand would hit 70% with shooting, wound 50% and then those wound would pierce the armour of the Genestealers.

OT: I'm excited for this, hell I saw "Space Hulk" and jumped right in to see what was what.

Heres the link to the mod.

TBH they seem to have upgraded the model/texture at some point, it looks alot better than some of the pictures suggest.

Here's a video of the terminator armor.

This seems to be another soundtrack entirely, It doesn't even sound similar.

I wonder what kind of gameplay it will have.

The original was a strange but very interesting mix of FPS and top-down tactical game. There was a time-limited phase where the player could command the Terminator squad on a map, after that it switched to first person until more command time had been earned.

It had a nice feel of fast paced tactics and panic. Genestealers everywhere aaaarh....
I was kinda thinking maybe like Legend of Grimrock, for some reason.

I mean, not to want to supplant unique ideas into other games, but it'd be great in what is essentially a corridor-based setting.

Thats how the original played. I somewhat doubt they would do that in a new game, but I can't imagine how to modernize that formula. Maybe they will simply go for a real time tactical, point and click interface similar to Dawn of War.

For those of you who are impatient, there's a game called Alien Assault that's available for free from it's developers, not quite Space Hulk, but there are a lot of mods to make it space hulk.

http://www.1d4chan.org/wiki/Alien_Assault

I like the sound of an ios version though, space hulk seems like a good game to be able to play on the go.

I got vengence of the blood angels on PS1 last summer. It was pretty enjoyable. The AI could screw you over sometimes though, managing to get stuck in a corridor you need to get through.

Here's hoping my PC can run the new one!

Consider my eyebrow officially raised.

If they are remaking/continuing classics, then let's see Final Liberation have a go. Nothing says "You're about to get 50 different kinds of fucked up!" than a squad of Titans showing you something that can burn brighter than the sun.
