Space Marine - Help me.

I haven't bought Space Marine yet for 2 main reasons.
1. My gripes with the story.
2. It's $120.

But I recently came into the possession of the money necessary, and the 40k nerd inside me is nagging me to give it a chance.
I'm just wondering, that even if I haven't pre-ordered it, can I still play as a Black Templar in multiplayer?
I've a few mates who are interested in playing it and I'm a sucker for customization and the Black Templars...So I figured if I'm going to spend 20+ hours in multiplayer or what not over the next month - I wanna do it as them.

You can most certainly play as a Black Templar in multiplayer. The only difference is that the costume isn't as ornate as the preorder thing. There's all sorts of raised symbols and textures that the normal painter doesn't let you use. It still looks like a Black Templar, just a standard soldier, not a veteran/venerated one.
