Wow, why am I the only one who views this movie as done in incredibly poor taste? First of all, it takes advantage of the millions of real deaths and incalculably real suffering as the set up for an novel villain.
It also ignores the principal lesson we should take from the Holocaust. That any one of us is capable of great acts of horror if we do not constantly, honestly, examine our own actions, how we feel about them, and why we feel that way. The tough questions, that by their nature do not cause us to want to ask them.
We should stop using Nazis as troop villains, not merely for how cleshe it is, but for the simple fact that doing so robs this epic tragedy from the lesson we MUST learn from it. The lesson, that by the blood millions, and by sorrow of many fold more, we are obliged to learn. That evil exists in our own apathy and self-interested ignorance, and the best way to fight evil, is recognize it inside us.
