Theres loads of new games coming out pretty soon as it approaches Christmas and such...
Just wondering which ones catch your eye and what your views on them are-overpriced? Tacky looking? etc...

I think the Modern Warfare Prestige Edition looks awesome yet i feel childish running in the dark with NVG's :p

I don't buy special edition stuff purely because the multimillionaire games developers are trying to make another £30 on £3 worth of junk that you'll most probably be all over for 1 week then never use again.

I love special editions, because I'm the kind of person who watches the special features on DVDs. Developer interviews, concept art - I eat that stuff up. I draw the line at tchotchkes though - never have I had a collectible so useless as my tiny Street Fighter 4 action figure, and I don't intend to repeat that mistake.

I have Battle for Middle Earth II CE, Warcraft III CE, Fable II CE.

I mostly bought those because they were the same price/only one at the store. I don't search for Limited Edition/Collectors Edition games.

Now, OT, what games am I looked forward to? As you said, Modern Warfare 2, plus Naruto Shippudem: Clash of Ninja, and many others.

I'm hoping Bioshock 2 has a collectors edition that is as cool as the first one, I mean A Big Daddy figure is pretty cool just generally, its by my computer right now.....watching.....staring....waiting.

Ordered the Assassin's Creed 2 Black Edition and the Jumpgate Evolution Collectors Edition. The former because I really want it, and the latter because it's barely any more expensive than the regular edition, and I'd like to have that galaxy map to decorate my room with. I would also like the Dragon Age: Origins Collectors Edition, but it's apparently not for sale in Holland, and I'm not keen on importing stuff. Also a potential Bioshock 2 Collectors Edition would peak my interest, although I'm not sure I got the money for that.

I only have 2 special edition games: Halo 3 and Fallout 3. The Fallout 3 special edition was a good buy indeed.

I was interesting in buying the street fighter 4 special edition but it just didnt seem worth it for the price.

I only buy special editions when:
The shop is out of regular games.
The shop has mispriced the special edition to be cheaper than the regular game.
I have a money-off voucher so I get it cheaper.

Since I doubt any of these to occur before Christmas so I don't plan on buying any.

Never bought one, never saw one at the local game shop, noticed that the European regular edition is only a dollar or 5 cheaper than the American special editions usually are.

I can't remember ever seeing one on the internet that has something worthy in it.

If it's reasonably priced and I don't already have the regular edition, sure I'd buy one. I think some of the extras can be a little goofy sometimes.

I have a pre-order down for the Dragon Age Origins Collectors Edition, Bioware really knows how to make a good CE. I'll probably get the Mass Effect 2 CE to.

Me too, but I cannot find it to pre-order anywhere, I know that HMV had the rights to sell it, but their website no longer lists it.

Also, I want the Dissidia special edition pack. Extra things are always good. =D

I always try to get the CE version of titles, but I am a game collector with several thousands of dollars invested into it, so that gives more reason to it. For just an average gamer wanting to play a game, they rarely are worth it.

Well, I'm not really into buying any special editions or things, with two exceptions.

One are the Final Mix editions of the Kingdom Hearts series, since they're one of my favourite set of games of all time, and I feel that they're worth buying.

The second is Devil May Cry 3: Special Editon, although, to be honest, I only bought that because it was the only copy of Devil May Cry 3 in the shop and I really wanted that game.

Well, I was tempted to shell out the extra cash for the Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition, but I couldn't find one in town. Of course, now that I find out that the Batarang was actually a piece of crap, I realize how lucky I am.

I'd only buy a special edition if it included something that was worth the money. Like night vision goggles for example. But a "making of" dvd or an extra map isn't going to get me to fork out the extra cash
