I recently pre-ordered the limited edition of God of War III for 100Euros [sub][sub]there is no euro sign on my keyboard[/sub][/sub], so this thread came to my mind:
What limited/special Editions do you own, which is your favorite and what are the reasons for you to buy one?

So i'll go first
-the Special Edition of MGS4, because of the documentation and the plastic Snake
-the White Edition of ACII because the little Ezio statue just looks badass
-the COD:MWII hardened edition
-and "soon": the limited edition of GOWIII because i never played the first ones

My favorite out of those is the MGS4 special edition because im a huge MGS fan.

Now its your turn!

I have Gears of War 2 Limited Edition, Assassin's Creed 2 Black Edition, and I've preordered the collector's edition of Splinter Cell: Conviction. I also have COG-tags and a Locust headshot action figure.

- The Unreal Tournament 3 CE because it was just as expensive as the regular one, and actually the only version for sale at the shop I was at.
- Assassin's Creed 2 Black Edition, simply because it's balls-to-the-walls awesome. I love my Ezio figurine.
- Dragon Age: Origins Digital Deluxe edition. It was on sale on Steam, so...yeah.
- Battlestar Galactica CE box set. Yeah not a game but still, it contained a little Cylon figurine. I'd sell my kidney for that.

Pre-ordered:
- BioShock 2 Special Edition, I can't wait for the posters.
- Mass Effect 2 CE, if only for less horrible box art. Some extra armour is quite cool as well I guess.
- Jumpgate Evolution CE, just 10 euro's extra and contains an awesome cloth map of the game universe.

I usually only buy CE's when they contain something to decorate my room with.

Heavily off topic: Have you played the Peacewalker demo... Its awesome as fuck

On topic: I wanted to get the creators Edition for Lbp psp but I couldn't get my hands on a copy. I always try to get special editions of my favourite films though. Love that bonus content.
Didnt played the demo because i would love it and go nuts till it would be released in may -.-

I got two copies of the MGS4 CE. One is signed by Kojima himself.

Anytime a game has a collectors edition, I pick it up. Off the top of my head:

-Demons Souls, MW2 (Prestige), Halo3 (Legendary), Mass Effect, Gears of War 1 and 2, Saints Row 2, Soul Caliber 4, Bioshock, Dragon's Age, Forza 3, COD4, COD:WAW, can't think of others, but I know they are on my shelf at home.

The only special edition box, that I have bought, is the Modern Warfare 2 hardened edition. T for £60, although I might, might spend 100 pound on the Bioshock 2. Although I'm usure about this.

Does my limited edition PS3 count? It's fully backwards compatible.

I got:
Gears of War 2 limited edition - for only 10 bucks more you get a bonus dvd, a really cool "metallic" case, an art book, and a photo of Dom and his wife.
Batman Arkham Asylum collector's edition - batarang shaped case containing game, bonus dvd with interviews, 14 inch plastic batarang on a stand, leather bound doctor's journal with entries on the villains, and extra game content.
Will be getting Mass Effect 2 collector's edition - game, art book, tin case without the stupid cover art on the normal case, bonus dvd, comic book.

Out of the 2 I have, the Batman one is better because of the batarang statue. The thing's awesome!

I usually base my special edition choices based on how much value or swag they are willing to throw at me. As far as a list goes I've got the blazblue limited edition, Fallout three collectors edition(even the collectors guide), Dragon age origins colectors edition and metal gears solid substance and subsistance if they count.

I have the Halo Wars limited edition and it's great. I was going to get the 'Black' edition of Assassin's Creed 2, but my parents got me the standard copy for Christmas before I had a chance. Doesn't matter though as I only wanted the special one for the extra plot exposure in the 'plot book' that came with it, and I can find that easily online.

Not that it matters anyway since I can't play it now my Xbox was stolen while I was home from university... (still, the buggers didn't take the scart lead or the power cable so they can't use it, and if they try and fence it no-one will buy it :D).

But yeah. I also recently bought the Dreamfall: The Longest Journey special edition, containing both games, a 70-odd page concept art book, and the full OST of the second game. And this was for £14.99 at my local GAME store, which is a great bargain. Haven't played it yet though, since my laptop memory is almost full so I'm going to finish American McGee's Alice first, uninstall it, then use the free memory to play the Dreamfall games with :).

The first special edition i got was Halo 2, i was so proud to have one and the making of DVD was hilarious.
The best packaged one I own is Far Cry 2, the wooden-looking box is sweet, and it came with a Tshirt which is cool.
Others include Gears 2, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 2.

I really want the special edition of Splinter Cell Conviction, but at 69.99 it's a bit pricey

Hmmm, let me think.

Red Alert 3, containing a music cd and a poster of the female cast.... Shut up.
Halo 2, which got ruined by my old College housemate and I have yet to clean.
Gears of War 2, I found the picture of Dom and his wife unnecessary and a bit, odd.
I think that's it. If I think of anymore I'll return.

I have the SE of Mass Effect atm, and I have pre-ordered the Aliens Vs Predator "hunter edition" just because I want that face-huger model. I can picture the shenanigans already...

Don't own any limited edition games, but seriously considering picking up the Divine Edition of Dante's Inferno. I mean, it's the smae price as the regular version, so why the hell wouldn't I?
