Well, it's the New Year, and if history has taught us anything (history being one year) next week's Zero Punctuation will focus on the awards for 2009. Here's a thread to either discuss what you think the choices are going to be, or to nominate your own entries for the various categories.

Here's my guesses based on his reviews and my own playing experience. And no, I have not played all of these, this is based on conjecture and word-of-mouth as much as me.

(And before any of you say it, yes I'm almost sure there will be different categories this year - this is just for some random speculation and chit-chat on the merits of various titles.)

The Indiana Jones in a Fridge Award for Franchise Murder: Resident Evil 5
- Runner-up: Guitar Hero 5

The 15-Year-Old School Leaver Award for Biggest Disappointment: Brutal Legend
- Runner-up: Darkest of Days

The Proximity to Jason Voorhees Award for Stupidest Main Character: Rubi (Wet)
- Runner-up: 50 Cent (Blood on the Sand)

The Turd in a Chocolate Box Award for Surprising Poor Quality: Wolfenstein
- Runner-up: Ghostbusters

The Turd in a Turd Award for Unsurprising Poor Quality: The Conduit
- Runners-up: Wet, Scribblenauts, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The Copulating Jelly Baby Award for Fucking Sweet Game: Batman Arkham Asylum
- Runners-up: Assassin's Creed 2, H.A.W.X., inFamous

The Attention-Deficit Award for Games I Haven't Reviewed Yet: Honorable mention to all developers who pushed their releases back to 2010 (Bioshock 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, Bayonetta, etc.)

I think he'll probably have different hilarious clever award titles this year. I'm also stumped as to what games might win.
