Hey guys I have to write a persuasive speech for school and all my ideas are way too cliche. It's your job to pick the best speech topic ever.

Explain in your speech why there should be no more speeches. Exemplify the importance of abolishing pointless tasks in public schools.

Just rip your administration a new one. A kid did at my school for his valedictorian speech, it was wonderful.

I had to do a similar thing for an argumentative essay. For fun I did it arguing (in an over the top manner) about how Santa corrupts the minds of the young. I was surprised that it won a place in the school magazine.

Is the myth of Santa manipulative of children?

Parents indoctrinate their children into the myth of Santa Claus for a number of reasons. Maybe they just want some peace of mind as their children adopt good behaviour. Maybe they just wanted to share the holiday spirit. However have they have not considered the impact that this blatant flasification has on their children. This is selfish manipulation of out trustees for several reasons. Not only is it instiling questionable morals in them but it leaves them wide open to exploitation, an aborrohant practice which we are perpetuating without any prompting. All this undermines our authority and influence over our offspring to the extent that they may disobey any sage advice we give them based upon this past experience.
Try something like that.

I think I might do that, but this would be easier.

Uh...? Did you mess up quoting or something? You have the same quote twice there.

I did my persuasive speech on donating blood. Most of it was crap, but for my attention getter I attached a bag of fake blood to my chest and started off,"Let's say you're running through the house with an icepick. It's all fun and games until you trip and accidentally impale yourself." That's when I jam the icepick into my chest (really just into the bag) and "blood" begins soak my shirt quickly. "Isn't nice that if this happened to you, you'd have a better chance of surviving with donated blood?" The look on the audience's faces was priceless. Yay, college!

I once heard of someone giving a massive speech (for a graduate school level class, mind you) on preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Hey, at least you'll have fun writing it.

I would do something like that but I have to give the speech twice, once in front of the class, and if it is one of the top two speeches we present our speech in front of the school and win money. If I used humour I doubt I would be given the chance to win money.

Not necessarily. The essay I did (above) was humorous and it won some money (quite surprised at that since our school has a reputation for being stuffy and boring, such and still making Latin compulsory).

Okay, then I'm doing what we should do if aliens attacked. if anybody wants to give some ideas on that, that would be helpful.

Might I recommend "How to Survive a Horror Movie" by Seth Grahame-Smith as a source? It's got a whole chapter of ideas. A good one is to not live in a city, because major invasions always occur in cities.

Try doing a cliche movie speech about rallying your troops for battle or a speech about how your child can't die from cancer, you have too many memories together with him. Ham up the acting as best you can, too.

But before you do that, talk to your teacher about your idea. Some will allow this and some won't.

I would but it's not a persuasive speech topic. What I want to do is convince people to attack the aliens before they attack us. When the Europeans first made contact with the Native Americans they fought them, I say we get the upperhand.

Find a barn. It worked for Tom Cruise.
