I just wanted to know, when a new console comes out (say, when the 360 or PS3 came out), do you get the upgrade as soon as you can, or wait it out a bit?

For me, I've taken too waiting a few years until getting the newer system. Meanwhile, I buy up the older games as they fall in price (I've been raiding Gamestop for Kessen and Suikoden games lately). You can't beat a $3.00 game.

Just want to know how the gamer community acts.

A $3.00 game?! Oh god, the least I pay for a game here is 5 euros, and those are worth more than dollars...
And, OT: I've only gotten my ps3 like a month ago, so... yeah. My pc is pretty nice, though. I built it a little over a year ago and it's still able to play every game on the highest settings.

I got my xbox 360 on release, though that's the first time I've done that since I was 7 and got my nintendo 64 (which my parents bought). I don't think I'll be doing it again either, it took a long time for the xbox to have titles I wanted to play released, the ps3 I bought (for less than I spent on my 360) recently feels like a far better purchase (not saying it's a better console, just better value given the circumstances of my purchases).

I got my PC 6 months ago and I haven't upgraded it since. It still plays all the newest games on mid-high settings.

As for consoles, I tend to wait quite a while to buy them. Gives them a chance to release more games for it and gives me a chance to see if there's anything I'd consider playing.
