After watching it again, I didn't see any web-based attacks, but I'm not going to rule it out just yet. I mean, it's Spider-Man we're talking about. There will undoubtedly be some combos that have web in the animations.Blueruler182 said:I meant in the trailer he didn't use the webs a lot. I may have just tuned out for a second but I only saw the webs once.Jbird said:Amazing Spidey had quite a lot of web-based attacks, which is suppose to be what made him different from the other three. They were listed along with every other combo I barely used in that game.Blueruler182 said:The Amazing Spider-Man didn't use webs as much, I don't think. And there has to be a falling section in every action game, it's just a law these days. That one section will, without trying, fuck me over.Jbird said:Unless I'm mistaken (or proven wrong), but that gameplay footage looks identical to Shattered Dimensions. Don't fix what isn't broke, I guess.
Well, yeah, but my point was that they might be able to get a more rounded combat system. They've seen the limitations of webs, what it's good and bad for, and they can move on. That's really why there being only two Spider-men looks good to me, because they've found out what works and what doesn't with the four spider-men in the last game.Jbird said:After watching it again, I didn't see any web-based attacks, but I'm not going to rule it out just yet. I understand what you meant, and I agree. But I'm not positively optimistic when it comes to Spider-Man games nowadays.Blueruler182 said:Well, yeah, but my point was that they might be able to get a more rounded combat system. I wont make any judgements just yet, but it seems like this could go really well. Hell, for their next Spider-man game they might just nail it.
It's always nice to see that the story is a concern for the development team. Here's hoping they get more leeway in the future, I'm positive Dan Slott and Matt Fraction would have kicked ass in their games if they didn't have to work around what the dev team wanted.Jbird said:I understand what you meant, and I agree. Also, I forgot to mention that I agree with the fact that the stories have improved with the help of Marvel talent. Hopefully, with the help of improved gameplay, we'll see more people who've worked in comic lend their expertise in games like this.
The sad part is Fraction had to write a script for a movie tie-in, which wasn't bad in itself, but not anything to worthwhile. I would give him some credit for expanding the movie's universe, though.Blueruler182 said:It's always nice to see that the story is a concern for the development team.
