Spiderman+Mirror's Edge?

I just got done watching the Amazing Spiderman teaser trailer and saw something at the end of it that made me wonder how the Escapist community would perceive a Spiderman game made in the same vein as Mirror's Edge (provided it was made by a competent studio of course)

I think it sounds like an interesting idea. Running around the rooftops, then swinging away on a web in first person would certainly be a rush.

The real question is this: Why was this not what people tried to do with Spiderman in the first place?

Its like asking why they still haven't made baby Kangaskan a pokemon yet.
