Okay, this is kind of a last resort for me, but I'm seriously pissed off now. Just tonight, I have killed six spiders, eleven crane flies, and the biggest moth I've ever seen. I need to know if anyone knows how to keep these things the hell out of my room, because I'm losing sleep wondering if I've missed any.

I mean, is it just me or have there been way more of these things this summer than previous years? Please, if any of you have any tips on how to get rid of these things, let me know. I'm sick of defending my room from a Starship Troopers style bug invasion.

Try closing your window. Or this...
he's trying to sleep. unless he needs a night-light, i think that will annoy him more then the bugs.

i agree with the windows thing though.

Probably should have mentioned this before, but I have a south facing room and the sun is on it nearly all day. I'll try closing the windows, but it's pretty warm in here with them open.

At least it's not wasps though. Last year was a nightmare.

Bug bomb, spray the house or nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

On a related note, one of the best ways to help yourself stay awake is to put spiders in your bed.

You, tell me if my fire is good.
Your fire is not good.
Use the simpsons one.
Edit: Ninja'd! Simpsons did it already I guess...

I'd say a can of bug-spray

..and a candle lighter.

Just be careful you don't let it blow back into your hand, that's how I got the nickname Stumpy.

Just thinking about that makes me shudder.

I can't help, If I see a bug I stay up all night.
It's like they're waiting for you to sleep, so they crawl away- and when you DO, well. Look who's laughing, and look whose mouth is wide open and snoring like the gateway to Disneyland!

Why can't you deal with a few bugs in your room? I mean, the spiders aren't poisonous, are they?

I think if you light a candle it will irritate any nearby bugs, driving them away from it.

Of course I could be completely wrong. I only vaguely recall hearing this a long time ago.

I imagine it would be quite annoying to have crane flies flying around inside your room.
