I thought you were supposed to listen to a diverse spectrum of opinions, not just the people who agree with you, but what do I know.SL33TBL1ND said:That's not how games reviewing works. You find people who's tastes and opinions line up with yours and listen to them. Calling them "extremist" is ridiculous.
If you're using a review as a buyer's guide (which is generally their purpose) the best advice you can get is the people who like the same things as you.EmperorSubcutaneous said:I thought you were supposed to listen to a diverse spectrum of opinions, not just the people who agree with you, but what do I know.SL33TBL1ND said:That's not how games reviewing works. And yes, I'd say people who consider Assassin's Creed 3 to be "terrible" are on the extremist side, because they are exaggerating.
(For the record, I don't care about the series.)
I am being ridiculous, I forgot to add my point to my last post. I edited it, but here it is again:SL33TBL1ND said:If you're using a review as a buyer's guide (which is generally their purpose) the best advice you can get is the people who like the same things as you.EmperorSubcutaneous said:I thought you were supposed to listen to a diverse spectrum of opinions, not just the people who agree with you, but what do I know.SL33TBL1ND said:That's not how games reviewing works. Someone calling Assassin's Creed 3 terrible isn't "extremist" it's someone saying they didn't like the game at all.
Stop being ridiculous.
It was a reasonable number of people who said this, so I just assumed it was fairly representative.EmperorSubcutaneous said:I am being ridiculous, I forgot to add my point to my last post. "Regardless, listening only to those people you already agree with and then declaring that the critical response was terrible is a silly thing to do."

come to think on it all four of them are spunkgargleweewee games
they don't have a shooter category it's a spunkgargleweewee category.
I was slightly surprised and disappointed that Halo 4 wasn't up for GotY. However, I suppose they already have a whole separate shooter category, and CoD isn't nominated for GotY either, so that's acceptable.InaquiTheArgentinian said:In my opinion the only game that shouldn´t be in the "game of the Year" is AC3, because lets face it (it was crappy), ME3 (yes BIg 3xA game, shoter with RPG elements, EA is evil, yada-yada) even with-out the retake ME3 movement, it was a relly significant game and it wasn't a bad game eather, besides if you add all the fuss around the ending it gets really temting to call it "game of the year" ( not so much for being the best game of the year but well). And on that logic, even so i did't play it because i dont have an X-box Halo 4 should be in that category to
(hugh, ican't belive i writte that. even so i did watch all full walktrow, because im a big RvB fan and i have to say it may be one of the best Halo's stories)
Dishonored deserves the spot can't say much, but the Walking Dead? "Sing hallelujah and rape eachother in thanks" my personal Favorite for BGY, and its not even done yet with ep 5 in, well 5 days it too much good. even/specially if they kill Lee (PLS DON´T LET THAT HAPPEN) its such a great game
Well, technically Adam Jensen was last year (and he wasn't all that interesting for me anyway tbh, it was the world around him that was interesting).Andy Chalk said:It amazes me that Claptrap, Master Chief and the latest generic Asscreed guy are up for Character of the Year, but actual characters - Max Payne (or even Raul Passos, and yes, I know, my fanboy is showing), Geralt or Adam Jensen - are nowhere to be seen. I know there's only so much room, but Claptrap? Come on.
