What the fucking fuck is this shit?

I just started playing, why is there level 20's on the other team completely kitted out who know the best routes in the maps while I'm still struggling with this weird ass control scheme?

We're loosing turf wars with the other team having like 91% of the ground covered while they, more or less, spawn camp us. This game isn't fun at all.

It's on random....
I've played rounds with no one over level 10, I've played rounds were I was 5 and everyone else 13+, I've played rounds were everyone was between 6-15.
Then it's also random between the 8 people in the lobb, if you ever get the next round with the exact same 8 people to play 2 rounds after each other, the teams won't be the same.
So it's matchmaking at random as random gets.
Weird controls? Just the buttons or are you still using the motion control thing even if it can be changed in the options?

The gear you start with is already 60% the effectiveness of the best stuff, the gear perks aren't anywhere near as impactful in your performance as your weapon and talent with it, and the weapon you start with is arguably the best weapon in the game.

The matchmaking prioritizes getting lobbies together fast, so sometimes it's good players stomping bad players by random chance, but it definitely tries to match by skill (I usually get matched with 20s, but when I try out a gun I'm not used to and suck for a while, it will match me down to lower level players) so if you get stuck with nothing but level 20s, it might be because the game thinks you can handle it.

Honestly, levels do not matter much in Splatoon. Knowing the maps and overall feel of the game gives you an advantage, but it does not mean automatic victory. I'm level 20 myself, and I know I could lose to a team of level 10 players if they are good enough. Though I rarely get paired with anyone under level 15 in regular matches anyway.

I remember my first real gauntlet of multiplayer matches, I played about 12 matches, and I won 10 of them, all while being a lower leveled player. Once you get to ranked battles, levels mean absolutely nothing. For those, you just have to bring your "A" game if you and your team want to win.
