I ran "Splinter Cell: Conviction" through the old search bar and got nothing but news articles and "what should I buy" polls, so my apologies if this has been covered.
I got Conviction today, and right when I start it at 11 AM on launch day, there is an update waiting for me. Half an hour later, my game freezes. Oh well. These things happen, right? Reboot and reload. Get to the exact same spot, three steps to the right of the first weapon crate, and it locks up again.
I ask Dr. Internet for advice. It turns out that Ubisoft's day 1 patch causes the game to freeze in this spot. Hurray. So now I have to clear out my Xbox memory cache, and start over, refusing the patch. Good thing I don't care about multiplayer.
So a friendly warning to my fellows here: Do not install the patch until they patch it. I thought the delays were for "polishing" purposes?
