Is anyone else stoked for new Splinter Cell? I seem like the only one at the moment, its been a while since I felt the need to invest money in buying a limited edition version of game, and this stealth game has had me hyped since it was announced a couple years ago (amirite?) the trailer got me the most excited is below..

Theres more trailers than that of course.

For those that don't know what or who Splinter Cell is then where have you been for the last year? ;)

The lack of a PS3 port killed my hype completely.

Though I would totally buy that in a heartbeat if my Xbox was properly working. Looks really fun.

It looks great, and the story is interesting, if not a bit crazy. I'm a little bit skeptic to it being so simplified though. Killing someone seems easier, and you no longer need to run by yourself. In Double Agent almost everything had to be done by the player, now it seems like the game is taking control.

There's a PC version but it is releasing later than the console version, sadly...

'SC Conviction will not, ever, be arriving on PlayStation 3 we have a great relationship with Mircosoft'

The quote is something like that, could someone find the quote from the representative from Ubisoft. But it mentioned that in future there is a small chance that future products may be available on multiple-platforms.

Hype is worrying. I must remain at a sufficient level of hype that isn't too high or I shall be saddened if the game doesn't match said hype.

After all, I liked the slow pace of the previous SC games more than this faster, "I can shoot everyone with a button press" thing. I assume making it quicker-paced is what attracts more buyers though.

Spl-what now? I'm sorry, I stopped playing after the first 15 minutes of the first game when I realized it was boring as hell.

Sorry, but no amount of weapons or improvements can ever un-jade me.

EDIT: Now if Sam Fischer had turned out to be Batman...

What is this, John Woo's Splinter Cell? Don't get me wrong, I love John Woo and I love Splinter Cell, but attempting to combine the two is just ... wrong. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory had this level of realism around it. I loved sneaking around, taking guys out silently or not at all to get to the next objective. Grabbing them and interrogating... Hiding them in washrooms.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!? Marking people? Seriously? Execution moves... Ugh. It's like they got rid of whoever designed the other Splinter Cells and replaced him with a guy that thinks, "Guns r cool letz execut peepl, guyz".

Then again, it's Ubisoft. Just look at Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I can't wait for them to fuck up Rainbow Six next.

I'm really unsure about the over-direct Gun-Kata thing he does now. I have to say I think I'd prefer a more Batman-styled gadget approach.

Exactly! Though I think I'll get it on PC if it turns out my laptop can run it. But seriously...WHY NO PS3 PORT?! I was heart-broken. And I was really looking forward to it and everything.

I was interested originally, but I found the demo to be a bit uninspiring.

I was hyped until I played the demo. I understand they wanted to make this one more accessible, but it's like they turned the difficulty level waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down. It went from a "must buy" to a "buy if found on sale" kind of deal for me.
