We all got a really good year-end bonus at work, so I went out and bought a MacBook Air and the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man and War Machine figures I've been eyeing up for months.

Still waiting for them to arrive from Hong Kong, I'm itching with anticipation! :D
Hate to be that guy but did you get them off of an ebay seller? The Chinese ones are usually Dodgy... and somtimes end up not being delivered at all, or being the wrong thing/a cheap fake. Speaking from a disappointing action figure buying experience here.
Fair enough if you've used the seller before but buy from Glorious Japan! their a lot more trust worthy and their imports are better policed.
I've not used the seller before but he has 99.8% positive feedback and over 26,000 ratings so I'm not too worried. Thanks for your concern though :)

I bought various action figures I probably shouldn't have as well, an I'm still waiting for them to turn up.

I've wanted one of these since I could form concious thought, the D-arts mewtwo is to the best of my knowledge the only mewtwo action figure available

I owned a load of power rangers when I was a kid. Now I own a detailed green ranger figure as a manchild.

Karmen rider is another guilty pleasure of mine. I already own karmen rider Dragon Knight and I'm planning on getting Wing knight and spear.
I've got that D-Arts Mewtwo, it's a pretty good figure but just be aware that it's next impossible to stand up without using the stand. That tail is really back heavy.

Thanks for the Mewtwo advice man. Does he stand ok if you touch his tail to the floor?

Yeah he should be alright if you do that or balance it off the back of a shelf or something. I just use the stand so I can get him in better poses.

I bought a wacom cintiq 24HD. Loooove it to bits, but it was more than one paycheque. More like the combined savings of several months.
I did the same as you and brought a Cintiq 24HD. I believe that one Cintiq screen is worth more than the entire rest of my computer (which I also splurged on), but it is still more than worth it in my eyes. Both the Cintiq and PC were several months worth of paychecks, but I still think it counts for this thread. :D
I'm hoping the next models go down in price soon, or they release a stylus like the intuos creative for a windows tablet or one of those convertable laptops. Be nice to be able to draw on the go without having to spend 2000 on a cintiq companion.

Fuck me, I didn't think that there were that many! Christ, I remember being a little kid and getting my mum to record all the original power rangers onto VHS, I stopped watching when it got out of hand and one series turned into 3 or 4.

I recognized the one from 1:43 to 1:45 and that was it!

Also didn't realize just how cheesy and low budget it looks. Guess it has it's charm though.

I have to ask, why the words "ranger", "go" and "final wave" said in English?

Here's the thing about Power Rangers: It's based on the long-running Japanese show, Super Sentai. However, it didn't get adapted into Power Rangers until Super Sentai was about 15 years old. Hence, there are 15 Super Sentai teams that never got adapted into English. Those first 15 forms he took were those unadapted red rangers.

As for the English bits... well, it's pretty much a staple of EVERY Super Sentai to have gratuitous English all over the place for no particular reason at all. Just how they roll.

i'm about as tight fisted as a teenage boy with his first porno so even though my income is half my living expenses i never splurge on anything.
that being said my birthday is coming up and i plan to spend a fair chunk of cash on a new violin, considering i'm just learning and the new violin will be worth 10x what my current one is worth and more than my car i'd say it's a pretty big splurge.

My friend has an old BMW 3 series and hes looking at getting a new car. Im really tempted to buy it off him and strip it out and use it as a track car. Its rear wheel drive and VERY cheap so its ideal but its down on power (120bhp and my road car is 200bhp and lighter) it would also probably cost me a fair chunk of money to get any decent performance out of it especially if i wanted it to be a bit tail happy which it doesnt really have the performance for. It really needs a 325i lump to get what i want (which will cost more than the car)
The car I bought is an '89 Camaro, an under-performer in nearly every aspect except handling, and the engine swap is going to cost me more than I bought the car for, but I knew that going in. Lucky for me this is about as straight-forward a swap as can be.

I'm clearing out a spot in the garage for it this Friday, and work begins.
