The show has been anger inducingly terrible since right after the movie. Why would anyone pay to watch this? Not only would you be wasting your money but you'd be promoting the continued butchering of a children's show that they continue to screw with in unacceptable ways in the original creator's absence.
Edit: Just read the thing about Hillenburg possibly being involved. Could actually good if that's true. Couldn't tell much from the trailer though because Nickelodeon ads never make anything look funny. I didn't notice Spongebob doing any of the overly squeaky crap he does in modern episodes though. That's a good sign.
