I can't help with the first question because I don't understand it. Your best bet is to get the Spore strategy guide, as it shows you how to get all the different options.
For the second, go to the planet with the disaster and put on your scanner tool. The scanner tool will immediately zoom in (by bleeping) on the five animals that need to be destroyed, one at a time. The animals are usually glowing with yellow vapors. Go low to the ground to see them and shoot with the laser weapon. If they're in trees, just shoot at the trees, holding the mouse button down, until it's marked as dead. If you're at the planet and all the animals (and some trees) are dead, all you have to do is put new species and foliage on the planet to stop the disaster. Later on you'll get an eco-disaster prevention tool, which you can put on your own planets.
A good way to eternally stop animal extinctions and raise planets to full ecology is to have nine different animal species and nine different trees species in your ship storage. That's 3 small plants, 3 medium plants, 3 big planets, then 6 herbivores and 3 carnivores/omnivores. You only need one of each species. When you get to the planet, beam the animal or plant down to the ground of it (careful not to drop or throw), then once the game registers the species, immediately suck it back up into your ship again. Do it in this order: Small tree - medium tree - large tree, the two herbivores, and the carnivore. Then repeat until all three sections are filled up on the ecology map.
If the planet already has tree or animal species, then be careful. If you add new species out of order or before the terrascore improves, they will instantly vaporize or die - thus irreversibly removing them from your storage until you go pick up more at another planet.
