You're awesome. My thoughts exactly - so sick of even hearing the word "cloud" at this point. And damn it Square Enix all that good will you built up with Bravely Default is starting to run out fast. You keep taking one step forward and fifty steps back.

Also, I liked FFVII as much as the next person, but wasn't Shinra kind of the thing we weren't supposed to like or am I remembering that game all wrong?

I don?t really like the idea of streaming games, if something goes wrong with my internet I like to still be able to play my games, the main cloud related thing I like and want to see more off is the ability to transfer my saves games between computers.

And even if your speeds are fast enough, to content stream a long game continuously in HD would eat up bandwidth caps everywhere quite quickly.

Cloud based gaming is the future, there is too much of a benefit for corporations so they will embrace it eventually, but yeah the net for alot of people isnt stable enough or they have issues with download limits, etc

As for the thing itself, one just needs to look at the late playstation now service to see where this will be going.
The internet connectivity nowadays just isn't there yet.
That is assuming you actually have fair prices which seems a bit doubtful given their track record in the mobile market.
I can see them ask for 5 bucks per day of final fantasy 7 or something and it's not like they have the game catalog needed to support this service anyway so it'll probably be overpriced games people who wanted to play already did.
So who is their target audience exactly?

Either way, squeenix pretty much died with final fantasy 13 to me so I don't much care about their foot shooting fetish anymore.

Who the hell cares that making a FFVII remake would be time-and-resource-consuming? This is the AGE of the reboot/remake! A ten-year-old could make the accurate prediction that this particular updated re-release would bring in enough cash to construct your new corporate headquarters entirely from hard currency.
