They are re-releasing Chrono Trigger again. It will hardly cost them a buck, but people will buy it for the new format. 100% profit.Sniper Team 4 said:Time to call in the back up plans for guaranteed money.
1) Release Kingdom Hearts 3.
2) Release Final Fantasy XIII Versus or whatever we're calling it now.
3) Release Final Fantasy XV--and make it good, it will sell three times as much.
4) Release sequel to Final Fantasy VIII (okay, so I'm really the only one that wants that).
5) Release a new Chrono game.
6) Remake Final Fantasy VII on the PS3.
Follow these steps, and the company will be back in black immediately.![]()
And all the sequeals and extended versions that reside on GBA, DS, and PSP? I'm arguing for Square to update or port everything they have to the current generations, not for them to continuously segment the market by making the previous games exclusive only to one or two systems.pg.shadowrunner said:Kingdom Hearts 1 is an early PS2 title. It's incredibly easy to find.
No that was Bioshock, and it was on Xbox. Or maybe it was TF2. That's what everyone and their dog tells me anyway. More importantly though...Lt. Vinciti said:Simple:

Never played it but seem people seem to think it was the Second Coming of Christ via a PS Game...
No, you can't say you like Square Enix, that's basically taboo here on The Escapist.pg.shadowrunner said:Can i just say that I love Square Enix games? Is that allowed on the escapist? Yes, they've been expiramenting, but isn't everyone's big boo-hoo about JRPGs that they never do change?
How about Enix? The Dragon Quest games are absolutely brilliant.TheEdgeofDespair said:To me, Square died in 2003 when it merged with Enix. This news only shows us that the lurid, zombified monstrosity of its remains has finally been put to rest, thankfully before it did further damage to Square's legacy.
Sad thing is, even though I own both KH1 and KH2, I'd probably buy them both if the final mixes were released in America.lordlillen said:KINGDOM HEARTS 1 & 2 FINAL MIX FOR PS3!!!!!
that would solve your problems

Also, why all the hate towards FF12, it was great and is my second favorite after FF6. I liked the play style, it actually made grinding fun, and character development was great. I had hoped they would have released a version with Zodiac Job System in American, but no dice. I played it on an emulator though, fantastical really. I think FF7 was a good game, but I can't help but feel this was their first game with big bad summons and the rendered movies, and it was a milestone for the genre and industry... which made up for the fact that it wasn't that well written and the characters were mostly boring and bland. Not that FF12 characterization was that much better, but the battle system wasn't fluff either.
But damn.... FF13.... made by the same team who did FF10(which I thought was awful), nice looking, bad characters, interesting but ultimately mediocre battle system, just why?
NO! I completely agree and want a FFVIII sequel! Sure...I'm afraid they'll screw it up kinda like FFX-2 did (Not that I hate X-2), but dammit! I love FFVIII! It's a risk I'm willing to take! D8Sniper Team 4 said:Time to call in the back up plans for guaranteed money.

Irridium said:And if they re-released an HD remake of FF7, they'd make all that back and then some.
I don't even care for the game or franchise that much, but it'd be stupid to pass up the opportunity to make shit-tons of $$$ by not re-making it.
And everyone else who said this.Lt. Vinciti said:Simple:

Hell, it wasn't even a critical failure. Some people just like hating on it.pg.shadowrunner said:Contrary to popular belief, FFXIII wasn't a financial failure. Really though, I feel for them. A shame things turned out the way they did.
...Not really? Being an obnoxious fanboy is taboo on the Escapist, but Squeenix itself is fine. Its just tough to mention it without stirring up people's inner fanboy/hater because its so damn polarized.Defense said:No, you can't say you like Square Enix, that's basically taboo here on The Escapist.pg.shadowrunner said:Can i just say that I love Square Enix games? I could say the same thing about pretty much any 3D Final Fantasy. No one game cost them billions of yen in debt.Space Spoons said:Man, that's a shame... But it's not entirely surprising. Square-Enix is a hollow shell of what it used to be, desperately clinging to the last few threads of greatness that remain as fans continue to abandon ship in droves. When Final Fantasy XIII was released and proved to be the single most divisive game in the series (remember the days when the FF name guaranteed a quality JRPG, no questions asked?), I knew it was the beginning of the end.
Oh, sorry. I forgot to add the hashtag.Erana said:...Not really? Being an obnoxious fanboy is taboo on the Escapist, but Squeenix itself is fine.
