Square Making FFXIII 360, PS3 Simultaneously

I don't really trust these companies PR anymore. Who is gonna come out and say "We are treating one platform unfairly, please buy that version though!" - We're only gonna know what this game was truly made for, when the game comes out and we get our hands on it.

As a person who owns a PS3 and not a 360 I am outraged that Squenix do not put full priority on the PS3 version and just drop the 360 one. What about MY feelings, huh? Why should I suffer just so millions of others can be happy?

I'm not too sure that either version is particularly boosted by this news, except for the fact that the 360 version may come sooner, and the PS3 a little later than it would have. But is this really BAD news? There are other games we could be playing. Better late than never really never goes down well with the gaming crowd does it.

I thought so, its just that my inner fangirl still clings mercilessly to the Final Fantasy franchaise, no matter how many times I beat it with a lead pipe...

DNK is going to be an average FPS, much akin to Prey, or Dead Space, or something like that.

I'm not even interested in the game too much, but I'm not settin' the bar very high.

The other means the Ps3 version is delayed in being finished by months, and not in a position where it can be released, thereby depriving a fuck-load of people trhe game needlessly. Both take the same amount of time for the 360 version.

It was already being held back so that it didn't have it's sales cannibalised by Dragon Quest IX. Releasing them too close together in Japan would adversely affect sales of Final Fantasy, which is still very much second fiddle to DQ in the homeland.

That's probably why they've started the Xbox coding early, because they all of a sudden have extra time to work with.

That makes no sense. It's one full job. It's not like they're halting progress on the PS3 version to work on some entirely different game for the the Xbox 360. They are being developed simultaneously. I don't see how that's a bad thing for anyone.

Because work is still work no matter when its done. The 360 version will take the same amount of time, and its date of completion is going to remain pretty much the same. The difference is if the Ps3 version gets finished sooner or later.

But it'll still be completed in the same amount of time. And even if not, this game has been in development long enough that a week or so back on the release date won't be that bad.

Yes, the 360 version will be completed in the same ampount of time, but this stops the Ps3 version from being finished first. It is only hurting Ps3 owners, and helping absolutely no-one.

But what is helping people if the PS3 is being developed first? If they take priority on the PS3, they have to finish the 360 later, and either way they'll take a long time. So it's best just to get it out of the way to make sure both consoles work properly.

My way means the Ps3 version could actually be released in a reasonable time-period. This means I have no potential easy ending to my needless suffering.

Whereas now, they are purposefully managing their resources improperly, and everybody suffers.

Oh yes, everyone suffers when a company is trying to release a game for both consoles so as not to make people unhappy! How idiotic of me to think that actually being nice to your Ex-Archenemies the Xbox owners who have shown glee at this by giving them the game at the same time as the PS3. No, I'm sorry. You know what, you can also have DMC, Bioshock, and Assassins Creed because if the developers for them don't prioritize PS3 over 360, they might as well not make those games at all! How silly of me to think we could live in a world where all gamers win. Thanks Dingo, thanks for showing me you don't need logic, all you need is to whine and complain.

And now you're just skirting the damn issue by trying to oversimplify it to just fanboyism. One procession of events leaves the Ps3 version finnished, done and perfected before the 360 version is started, and in a position where it can be released. To sum this long arguement up, The PS3 version is delayed because they are being released simultaneously. The 360's release date isn't changing but the PS3's will take longer to develop for. However this is good news for 360 fans, because we feel like we're not bieng treated as much as a secondary priority. So essentially the only people who will have a problem with this is the PS3 fans, who dislike the idea of them both bieng released at a date relatively closer together.

So, like no american ps3 release, whatever, I ordered Dissidia and its psp package for an occasion like that (was expensive as hell though) I may just have to do it for this being the die hard ff fan I am... -Sigh- Looks like I will have to cut back on buying games for a while untill I can pool enough for another ps3... that is if they wont release american ps3 version (I'm aware dissidia isnt japan-only as they will NA release its more that, they will be making changes to fit western... so I'm guessing onion knight would be luneth or whatever, either way... I wasnt going to settle for it >.>)

FF13 is being released for the PS3 and the 360 everywhere.

Apart from Japan that is only getting the PS3 version.(which is weird....since the 360 is gaining alot of popularity in Japan.)
