iv just upgraded to a new ssd to run my OS ( windows 7) and iv seen great improvements in the performance of my computer but my question is do you think they are worth getting? or would you get one now or do you recon it is just a waist of time?

They are definitely worth getting, but they are really expensive now. I will wait until the price comes down.

A USB stick is a solid state drive. It's a different type of Hard Drive, where there aren't any disks, hence, solid state.

to my understanding they are just large versions of a usb stick, they dont have any moving parts, the advantages are they dont fragment like regular hard drives, they produce no sound and less heat because there are no moving parts and they are faster, they deacrease start up and shut down times and increase overall performance beecause the computer can find information faster
