So for those who didn't know, Super Street Fighter 4 come out on the Arcade market a few months back, with a bunch of new bonuses, such as characters(Yun and Yang, and recently Oni and Evil Ryu), as well as balance updates and other things).

Well, as of now, SSF4 AE has been announced for the consoles. The update will be coming out on July 7th for $14.99 for the people who already own SSF4, as well as a retail version coming out on June 24th as well(no price has been confirmed but I'm guessing its going to be the same price as when SSF4 launched).

Also a PC version of SSF4 AE is on the way as well, but it has just started being worked on, and will come out sometime later this year instead.

With the main info out of the way, let's talk about what the Arcade Edition update will entail.
The update will come out of the 4 new characters added into the game; Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni.

As well as more alt costumes on the way for said character, and the rest of the SSF4 cast.
The update is also going to go and effect some online content as well. Capcom is adding a new replay channel to the area, sectioned off with people who have 3000 PP or high, so you have an easier way of seeing how some of the top lvl players are playing or using your character.
They are also expanding the previous "Endless Battle" mode into "Enhanced Endless Battle" which will allow for more option selections and matchmaking choices, as well as adding more info to the current fighter ID system.
And also, to ensure the community isn't broken apart by the SSF4/SSF4AE seperation, Capcom is making it so both sides can still have matches with each other(though, those who don't buy the update will not recieve the extra characters and modes).

A video has also been released that goes and shows off all the updates:

So, with that all said and done.....thoughts and opinions on the release info??

Well, atleast they're selling at as a DLC this time instead of forcing people to buy the game again...

I fucking hate this, if a game is unbalanced ideally fix it before release and at worst patch it, don't charge people to fix a flawed game.

Well, the problem with fighting games is that many of the cracks in balance can only be seen months after release, after thousands of players and millions of matches. Especially ones with large rosters.

OT:

I stopped playing SF, but this might get me back. Probably not, though. I've grown attached to Blazblue.

I might get this for PC when it comes out, and hopefully it would have at the very least cross platform play with the 360 version just like Blazblue did (still waiting on that PC version of CS dammit).

They sure as hell took their sweet fucking time with this though, but I guess it's better late than never.

And I'm probably going to be too busy playing Mortal Kombat.

Still, at least people don't have to buy the game a third time for the extra content.

It's impossible to perfectly balance a game that is as complex as Street Fighter in just the several months they have of internal testing with a few dozen testers. Once it gets into the hands of the players, there's a thousand times more testing going on, and that's where the majority of the imbalances and bugs are found.

Well, if you read the thing, they are releasing a CD version of the game as well. =P
The CD retail version of the game is coming out June 24th(before the SSF4 update comes out), so that people who don't have SF4 or SSF4 can purchase the game, while the people who already have SSF4 just have to pay the $15 update for all the new content.

Also, just wondering, what do people think of the new character additions??

I hate Ryu. Maybe if, just for once, people online picked somebody else (not with a cloned move set either!) apart from Ryu. Would it be too much to ask?

I'm so sick of fighting Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Sagat all the time!

Well, now you get to deal with Ryu, Evil Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Oni, AND Sagat!

Won't that be fun??

"My thoughts" on the matter, you ask?

My thought is that Capcom (and Ono, specifically) needs to stop calling every new version of SF the "final" or "ultimate" edition, and promising that fans can confidently buy the latest game without worrying about a new one coming out 6 months later.

Seriously, I enjoy the idea of extra content, but quit toying with us.
