I've been performing since I was young, so I don't get stage fright. At least, not in front of large groups or strangers. I don't know you? Then I don't give a good goddamn what you think of me or how I act/sing/play.

However, if I care what you think of my performance (i.e., if you are a good friend/family member/love interest)? Then I freeze up. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

I wanted to sing a specific song for my boyfriend, one that means a lot to both of us. It took me SIX WEEKS to get up the guts to sing ONE VERSE for him. But he loved it, so I'm glad.

I'm the exact opposite, I'm reserved and fairly shy but on stage I, for want of a less cliched term, come alive. I really do, its weird really.

I think this is odd, because normally I'm amazingly outgoing and somewhat goofy with few inhibitions. But then for the first time, I was filmed.

It was for a college class project, and I was so ready, but the moment that camera focused on me, I froze O_O

It was really odd.

So, does anybody have a similar experience?

It doesn't need to be stage fright either, I mostly mean "have you ever been put into a situation you totally thought you'd be comfortable in, and then you aren't?"

I had a similar experience. My fiancé's still a virgin, and she said she wanted to lose it, I just kinda...freaked. Not sure why...

I'm a fairly shy person but I'm an excellent public speaker and I had a major role in a musical a few years ago, which was quite fun.

I wanted to do a flip into my friends pool, I get up on the diving board and was scared I'd hit the board or do a back-smacker (like a belly-flop but on your back). It took a few more times and even though I was still scared I did it anyways and it was awesome and I had a perfect landing.

Usually whenever I'm scared of something I tend to try to analyze it and figure out why I'm scared then just face my fears. I have stage fright too and the more I think about it the more scared I get so I just go out there talk and get it over with and don't remember what I did half the time.
