what is your point? did I not write "assume" clear enough, do I have to put in freaking bold? there is no way that you or I will ever know with 100% accuracy how much he spent on his games, hell he might have bought games for another platform and then the number might be higher.

I don't know how the hell I otherwise could have formulated that I was making a guess based on ASSUMPTIONS!. How the fuck am I going to know if he borrows his games from a friend? or stole them? I was making a guess, how about you make your own pedantic guess before you get on my case and give me shit over how I haven't considered every single variable under the sun.

Oh, I'm sorry. Generally where I come from, and with how I've been taught to act, assumptions for the most part have to be, you know, reasonable. I start making ones that are without any ground, I'm used to getting called out on them.

So, to just ASSUME (Hey look! I can bold and caps lock too! And I can act like a total dickweed as well, replying with the same attitude as though you just punted my dog across the road!) without consideration or a longer thought process, is something that ought to be corrected. Just throwing the maximum possible value out there without much other attempted insight is just poor process. You want to make assumptions, go ahead, just put some more thought into them is all rather than just letting out ill conceived notions. Hell, his profile is publicly available to look at what's there. While there are several newer titles there as the more recently played, there are a ton of others like the TMNT Movie Game from a few years back and Pac-Man titles and the like.

This conversation could easily have gone a different way, and one that I would have much rathered. You could have come back with other thoughts to add onto it, or to help construct a more reasoned point, but instead, you've acted like a complete and utter prick with this who I am currently not wanting to ever deal with ever again. I truly hope you are not this overly aggressive in real life, or caught you on just a bad night, or I pray for the people that are required to put up with you. There is honestly no reason to flip this far out over such a single reply.

I'm actually disappointed my reply was met with such an ill mannered response. I have no way of guessing exactly which titles were borrowed, bought on discount, bundles, DLC or otherwise, no way at all. All I have is the average game price which is 60$ the average GS points in a game and arithmetic.

Did you even get the point of my post amidst your righteous nitpicking? It was simple and non confrontational, merely a reflection at the resources the player had gone through to achieve his goal, and a hope that he had fun getting there.

This is pretty impressive. I've never owned an Xbox so I'm not privy to how it works. On average, how much GS can you earn from a signle game?

The average game has 1000 gamerscore.

Xbox Live Arcade games have (at most) 400 gamescore.

Some games go above 1000 if DLC is released for them. Halo, Treyarch Call of Duty games and Gears of War being the best examples.

OT: What I find most impressive is just how many games he's played. Name an obscure game and chances are he's played it just for those achievements. If he takes in what the game is about he could have quite the rich gaming background now.

You want a guess on it? I'd say given how quickly a game deflates in cost, that most drop to within $20-$30 within a year of release, combined with the large amount of shown shovelware and DLC used by the guy, not taking into account possible services like Gamefly or borrowing, probably closer to $25-30 per 1000 Gamerscore, especially when you count in others such as Arcade Games and DLC on top of it.

But at this point I really don't care. It's not some psychoanalysis bullshit that I'm trying to pull here it's just me being upset over the complete lack of manners shown. Well, perhaps upset isn't quite the right term. Whatever you call the term when you've interacted with someone belligerent, but just want to right the encounter off after rather than dwell on any longer. Annoyance I guess? Yeah, that seems more fitting. Back on track, it's not assumptions I'm making on you but impressions you're giving to me. Instantly you come of as extremely rude and standoffish as soon as the conversation starts. There's no assumption in attitude for me because it's all that has been displayed to me so far.

At this point, I'm tired. It's been a long day and it's too late for me to stay up any longer. And when I wake up, I'm not going to want to deal with anymore of this bitterness. I think at this point, the best thing to do is just agree to think of each other as pricks, go our separate ways, interact with people we actually enjoy, and each add the other to our ignore list so we don't have to ever do this again.

Gamerscore is a lot like a medal. It only has value to those that put value in it. . . which is not many. But it is neat to see someone do this. It takes a lot of effort to max out certain games (especially the Multiplayer ones, which takes a lot of luck and time as well).

So, mostly, it holds no intrinsic value besides what you as an individual put into it. I don't think it is ours to judge people that put value in it any more than it is theirs to judge those that don't.

Some people like points, and this guy just so happens to have the most. Which, like I said, is neat. It certainly does not make him better or worse, though. It's just really neat.

That is what he likes to do, and he's got the possibility to do it. I can't for the life of me see the problem.

Honestly while its not something I wouldn't do myself, I have to give a lot credit to the guy. And his girlfriend for understand his goals and supporting it.

I also wouldn't run a marathon or paint a mural. But it doesn't make it any less an achievement (no pun intended.)

I'm also a bit surprised on how many people here are more than happy to insult, degrade and dismiss him. I thought we were a video game player community here? Even if we see it as being a bit... frivolous, shouldn't we still recognize his accomplishment as being a pretty damn good one?

Not as bad as you might assume. If you type Stallion83 into Google Images you find plenty of pictures of him. He also has an apparently very understanding girlfriend (again contrary to what you might assume). From what I understand his family have their own business and he only works part-time, allowing him to both play round the clock and occasionally visit the gym.

That is also assuming the guy played all the games himself. That it couldn't be a group of people using the same account and crediting a single person (which I have actually seen for both the in game unlocks and the trophy unlocks)

No hate for him, think it's great to embellish his false sense of achievement that way, like I tried to do from the very beginning. My only problem is that the games I liked to play and tried to unlock everything on in order to get platinum ended up being buggy not allowing me to complete them. After the first 3 I tried to do that with not being able to get certain trophies, I gave up.
