Does anyone still play it? I still do, and recently Cryptic did a poll on who we want as a new faction, so it looks like a 3rd side will be coming into the mix soon! I have both a Fed and Klingon character, so I can answer questions if anyone has them.

I really wanted to like it... but it just disappointed me. There were so many little things that added up to something I just couldn't bring myself to pay for every month.

I used to be an EVE player myself, but i never really got into the hardcore style play of : "You could lose everything at any moment". The casual feel of STO is what keeps me there.

I played the beta up to a tier 2 ship. As big a Trek fan as I am, I didn't feel like it was for me. I don't know how the poll you mentioned turned out, but surely the Romulans deserve to be the third faction?

I played the Open Beta and got to a Tier 4 ship. I then played for 2 weeks after launch and got up to a Tier 5. I then got stuck playing the missions in Borg Territory and so stopped. I may start playing again in a month or two.

i doubt rodenberry would let this happen.
arent mmorpg`s about getting the best armour the biggest pet the gaudyest weapons. star trek was supposed to be set scociety that had given up violence as a response and material accumulation. not go there shoot that.
this game in my oppinion does not convey the message of peace and human maturity star trek was ment to convey

Yep, the vast majority voted Romulan. The game already has a good sized cache of Romulan ships, so it wouldn't even take too much development time to churn them out.
