Star Wars Battlefront... 3? Why, where, how, when...?

Okay so, I played the hell out of Battlefront 1, then lost my remaining childhood days playing the sequel.

I LOVED THOSE GAMES!!!

Then, one day... the third was announced, I flipped. If I can remember correctly my excitement consisted of high pitched screaming and the hugging of random neighbors.

Then the company making the game (Pandemic, I think) went broke... however, not all hope was lost. The game's license was bought by another company, YAY!? It then also went broke. *crowd boo's*

Now at this point I highly doubt there will be a follow up to the second installment of the game. Why does no other company pick it up? A huge number of people (including myself) still regularly play the game. If a third installment was released now it would sell like hot cakes. Why do no game companies see that?

The graphics have become dated, the gameplay somewhat repetitive and so forth. In other words, the battlefront games will soon be dead for the most part.

So all in all, what are all your opinions on the topic? Do you want another installment, did you even enjoy the first two games? If a third game was released what would be soem changes you'd be hoping for etc.

Just your general opinion. Also sorry if I made any mistakes about the company names etc, try not to dwell on that and just focus on the topic. Thanks.

Not sure. Lucasarts went through some restructuring, and other than The Old Republic, all Star Wars games will now be made by Lucasarts.

This was a long time ago though, like before the release of Force Unleashed 2. Not sure if anything's changed, but I doubt it has.

i loved the first two. played the hell out of the first and the second was incredibly fun too.

I loved the Battlefield games personally. I think they had amazing balance; you could be a regular trooper and have a decent chance even against Jedi. The thing I'd like to see improved is the campaigns and more varied game types. Some of the missions had vague goals. But what I'd really like to see is expansion. They did the original trilogies and the prequels but what about a setting of the Great Hyperspace War, or the Great Sith War, or even the Jedi Civil War. So much great material to use.

I like it how Star Wars: Battlefront 2 on the ps2/xbox or even psp kicked the crap out of Lord of the Rings: Conquest on the PS3/xbox 360

I played the hell out of 1 & 2 on my ps2 and it would be awesome if there was going to be a 3rd instalment.

yeah it'd be good to see another battlefront, but what i want the most is a sequal to Republic Commando, best squad shooter i've ever played
