Star Wars getting 3D re-release in 2012

Star Wars is one of the most well recognized film franchises in the world. Ok, the original movies (IV,V,VI) were the ones the fans were clammering over and the ones that are most loves by people.
The prequels were lackluster, but George Lucas must have guessed a 3D release of the prequels and the originals would make them more loved by the star wars community.

The first film The Phantom Menace will be re-released in 2012, followed by the other prequels and the original three films. Each film will be released one year after the next, meaning that the 6th movie, Return of the Jedi will be re-released in 2017.

STAR WARS: REVISION SEVENTEEN

Changes:
-3D
-Add "A Better Chosen One than the Last One" as sub-subtitle
-Replace Death Star with computer-generated waffle
-Superimpose Matt Damon's face over Alec Guinness
-Digitally replace Han's gun with bowl of petunias
-Add forty-two varieties of stormtrooper to maximize toy revenues

As you can see, I am somewhat critical of how George Lucas handled the various re-releases of the original Star Wars trilogy. In all seriousness, though, he's just going to make even more revisions to the movies with these 3D releases - I myself would much rather just sit down, dim the lights and watch the original versions in my living room.

This time upgraded even further with more useless CGI that clutter the screen! And Jar-Jar Binks appears instead of Hayden Christiansen at the end of Return of the Jedi!

Or at least that's what I'll be expecting to see, seeing as how Lucas can't seem to keep his grubby incompetent hands to himself.

Nice way to get more money with no actual effort, George. I would never have expected you to skeptically re-release the same product over and over with minor, superficial adjustments which add nothing, pull focus and feel out of place.

This is just stupid, bad for the movies and 3D movies in general.

I cant help but think of Clash of the Titans when I hear this. How turning the movie 3D in editing just decreased the quality of the movie overall. Same with The Last Airbender. So why would I go and pay $15 to go see a bad movie (Fuck you Star Wars prequels) given a worse 3D treatment?
