Star Wars Novels?

Back when I was in the fifth grade, I loved Star Wars novels. I read the Thrawn Trilogy, The Truce at Bakura, and started on the Dark Tide books.

I also own the first three collections of Rogue Squadron comics.

So, as someone trying to get back into Star Wars, what does the escapist recommend?
I've heard good things about the Rogue Squadron Novels, and Corran Horn is one of my favorite characters (I read the one where he had to rescue his wife (I forget the name of the novel), and I'd like to finish the Dark Tide books.

For extra discussion, what are some of the Escapist's favorite Star Wars novels, and why?

You might not like them as much if you're into Star Wars for the whole Jedi thing, but the Republic Commando series of books are some of my favorites.

Also, anything written by Timothy Zahn or James Luceno is almost guaranteed to be a good read, so I'd certainly recommend those.

The New Jedi order series (The one with the Yuhzan(?) Vong) has Corran Horn in the first few books quite prominently, but there are just so many I never bothered buying all of them, but the ones that I do have are entertaining.

I read the Jedi Academy Trilogy it's a pretty good trilogy about Difficulties for Luke in starting his Academy.

I prefer the Rebellion/ Post-Imperial era, but the Clone Wars were pretty cool, before the whole Anakin-angst phase.
