Star Wars sitcom being made for TV

George Lucas has confirmed that the 'Star Wars' movies are to be turned into a TV comedy series.
It will be an animated series that will poke fun at the sci-fi movies. Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, the creators of Robot Chicken, have been hired as creative consultants.

Well, alright then - that sounds like a god-awful idea. Can't Lucas just put his beloved franchise to rest while it still has a shred of dignity left? I mean, come on. Although, I've never seen Robot Chicken, so I don't know if that's funny or not, but it still comes off as blatant whoring on Lucas' part (but I suppose that shouldn't come as a surprise).

Lord no... Don't get me wrong, the Clone Wars cartoons were great, they really were (and Robot Chicken too). But this, the whole sitcom idea, gives me Holiday Special flashbacks. The horror!

If anyone can make Star Wars funny it is Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. Robot Chicken is just an awesome show and I have no doubt they could make a Star Wars sitcom funny. Let Lucas do what he wants with Star Wars. They are his films, not ours.
