yeh i heard the same
Well I suppose that depends how high your expectations are. Mine aren't greatly high so long as a game is fun or gives me some kind of enjoyment so I was quite pleased with this game.

Nice review. Very nice review. Although I didn't have the problems with auto-targeting that you had. When my guy accidentally picked up someone I didn't want(which didn't happen often) I just killed them with my lightning if I had the time and through em if I didn't.

It does if you disreguard game length. The physics are great, force powers are awesome, and you spend the first 10 minutes or so of the game as darth vader.
Also, I heard that next year there's going to be a patch with the multiplayer for the game. Is that correct?

The demo told me everything about the game... Battlefront is still my favorite

Nice review. :D
I wouldn't mind trying it at least once. I'm just not sure if it's worth the money (We don't really have any video-game-rental places here :/)

Maybe you should try Lovefilm [http://www.lovefilm.com/browse/console_games.html?refer=GGLF21GOG&promotion_code=GGLF21GOG&CID=ppc] :)

Hmmm... I've been wondering whether I should bother with this game. Ah well, I'm a sucker for random Star Wars games and assorted tat, so I guess I'll get it.

I would write my own review but there's so many floating around, I think I could be better spending my time picking my nose.

My take on this game is this:

This game irritates the hell out of me. Many of the enemies are unpredictable and far too healthy. Sith Master difficulty is absurd, you can die within half a second to a normal enemy, let alone a boss.

The ability of some creatures to be able to hit you repeatedly, so you either lose control of your character for 30 seconds straight (easier difficulty) or simply die outright from a single mistake (hard) is very weak mechanics. I would call it balanced if you could mash a button combo to be able to shake them off or get up faster to avoid the next hit, but if you get hit once you might as well drop your controller and get something to drink.

Also, this game is far from free of bugs. I have, on occasion, fallen down a pit with invincibility on and stood in an abyss dying of boredom (save, quit, reload). I have on numerous occasions had the game freeze on me (I thought this kinda game was above that these days - turn off 360, turn on again). I have had the enemies in general bug out in so many ways it's hard to count. Things become invisible but don't actually have the ability to do that normally, like they lose their texture. Bosses stand there and let me hack their shins till they die. People noclip through the floor with force grip and you get a long way down bonus from someone falling forever. This is all embodied in a fight I had with Proxy - I threw him in the air and for 5 mins he didn't come down again. On another attempt, he noclipped through the floor and I got a long way down bonus on a BOSS.

Rant over, I still keep playing it. And I don't even know why. I guess they're doing something right, but that doesn't mean I'll be recommending this game to others.

Good review and The Force Unleashed is not a bad game but some of the graphic bugs are annoying.

I also loved the force lightning and in the later levels most of the time I used the force for normal enemies because it's more fun.

But what I think is funny is that you get sucked out in space once and you survive. How is that possible? Shouldn't you die because it's pretty cold out there?
He probably used the Force to slow his metabolism, heart rate, etc. down until he was in a kind of stasis state. There are real-life legends in many cultures (especially East Indian and Asian) outside of Star Wars of people being able to fake being dead by going into a comotose-like state and even being able to make their heart beat really hard to feel. ***Spoiler Alert****

Besides, it doesn't totally protect Starkiller as in the next part, you see the Empire's doctors putting some kind of life support system in him that is less obvious than Darth Vader's but is apparently still keeping him alive. In Episode III, Darth Sidious tells Anakin that the Sith have ways to cheat death. Maybe Darth Vader used some of those Sith techniques on Starkiller as well.

***End of Spoiler***

I have to agree with some points in that the story was engaging (with some fantastic voice acting), tossing stormtroopers around in various devilish ways never (NEVER!) gets old, and all of the set-pieces and boss battles were ridiculously fun (when they worked). Most people add the exception of the Star Destroyer sequence as a notable exception but I disagree. The TIE fighters can be destroyed very easily with force lightning as they fly by and if you're so much of a twat that you can't override the prompts and maybe figure out for yourself how to line the damned thing up then how have you ever beaten ANY game without the constant aid of quick time events and on-screen prompts? But now we get to the heart of the matter which is that the game is fundamentally broken in so many ways that it drains all of the fun completely out of it. There were times when I was fighting a boss with the childlike gleam in my eye that can only come from thrusting a lightsaber and controlling the unbridled power of the Force, when everything but my character would freeze and I'd be left to wander around until I eventually reloaded and had to start from the last checkpoint. If you're fighting the Junk Titan when this happens (as it did with me no less than thrice) that means you have to start at the beginning of the cave, go light the engine, wait through the unskipable cinematic, and then fight all over again. The same freezing glitch also affected both of my fights with Vader, and also a whopping five times during my fight with the Emperor. Add this to the fact that one of these freezes hard-locked my PS3 and reset the system settings and I was no longer smiling. As another quick note, it felt to me like the boss AI would be WILDLY varied during each fight depending on how well I was doing. If I walked up to Vader and quickly bled his lifebar down to the red without loosing much of my own health, he'd seemingly get some berserker rage and wail on me with unblockable combos and multiple "hit them while they're down" moves until I was roughly the same health that he was, at which point he'd go all narcoleptic on me and let me finish him with little effort. Combine that with the fact that every boss can be beaten or disabled by spamming either force lightning or force push ultimately made the game kind of like a walk in a particularly beautiful and exciting park where rabid squirrels randomly attack you and then offer you a sandwich. I enjoyed the game for it's beautiful pearls, but grew frustrated and tired of having to sift through mounds of feces to find them.
