I don't think I'm alone when I say I wasn't happy to hear that The Old Republic will be using a standard MMO UI. In other words, they are using an extremely dated system.
It may be because I am simply used to single player RPG interfaces, but I just don't like the way MMO UIs are set up. They make you seem detached from your characters achievements and actions.
I'm saying this because, as a game that is being called by the developers "KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7", there is no reason to change the combat interface.
Anyone who liked the first two Knights of the Old Republic games knows how simple to use the Combat interface was. You select an enemy, queue up your attacks, and let fly. Simple as that. Up close and visceral.
MMO combat more or less follows the, attack dude, run away before agro targets you. It breaks the flow, and detracts from the experience that this game seems to want to give players.
If they had just stuck with and refined the original combat interface from KOTOR 1,2 I would be a lot happier.
