[HEADING=1]Star Wars: Total War[/HEADING]
Welcome to Star Wars: Total War, the sequel RP to Star Wars: Cold War [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/540.335797-Star-Wars-Cold-War-Accepting-Profiles]. In this RP, you will join one of four factions, and battle for the fate of the Galaxy. Will you join the New Republic, helping the New Jedi Order retake the Core Worlds? Will you join the Imperial Remnant, reinvigorated from their past defeat by the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn? Or will you join the Sith Ascendants, led by an ancient Sith Master with the intent to slay both the Emperor and the Jedi, and dominate the galaxy for his own? Or will you join the Fringe, the bounty hunters and smugglers, who profit off the war, working for everybody and nobody?[small]It seems like only yesterday that the victory bells were ringing, and we'd at last found peace. Five years since the Miracle at Endor, and three since the end of the war. We'd finally done it. The Empire backed down, the Emperor fled to the Outer Rim. The New Republic was back, and things finally were looking up. We could finally look to a tomorrow, a chance to rebuild what we lost.
I guess not anymore. Not since Thrawn showed up. Not since the Outer Rim erupted into total anarchy. Not even the Core Worlds are safe. The Empire is back in business, and they mean it. A dozen worlds were hit last week alone. We're on the back foot, and this time, I don't even think the Jedi can save us....[/small]
The choice is yours.
This RP will use similar rules to other RP threads, with a few slight alterations.
No Godmodding
This one should be fairly obvious. No pulling deus ex machinas out of your ass to win a fight, respect other player's contributions, and remember that the galaxy does not revolve around you.
Multiple Characters
You will be allowed to use multiple characters in this RP, provided you specify who you are using by placing their name in bold text above their dialogue. IMPORTANT NOTE. Only submit your primary PC's Character Sheet. Secondaries don't need to be submitted. It helps me keep track of the players mostly, and it lends the secondaries a bit more surprise, which can make for some cool developments.
Communication
When communicating with other players, the best way to get their attention is to quote them, indicating a response. Be sure to edit their lines from the quote to avoid clutter. It will look like this.
Combat
This being Star Wars, combat is going to be an important part of the RP. However, like with Godmodding, remember to be respectful of the other players. The way I see it, combat should not be used so you can "win", or kill another player, but to instead progress the story. If a character wishes to die, be sure to discuss it with the character's owner. Since you are allowed multiple characters, this is up to the owner to decide who lives or dies.
NPCs
If you really need to get your murdering rampage on, but nobody wants to give up their character or get bogged down in a stubborn back and forth fight, use NPCs. Stormtroopers and droids and other various redshirts can all be used for action purposes, or story elements.
Player Characters Turned NPC
Due to the nature of RPs, oftentimes a person will have to drop out for whatever reason. If so, their characters will be turned into NPCs available to everybody for use until such time as they are killed or the original player wishes to use them again.
Additionally, if a player does not continue to post after a two month period, their characters will subsequently be added to the NPC pool. This way they stay in the story and we don't drop loose ends.
Keep It Civil
Don't throw around posts involving sexual penetration or the like. This is Star Wars, not Star Whores. If you swear in your character, that's fine. If you use Star Wars swearing, even better.
When In Doubt, Consult The Wook
If you are having trouble understanding something in the RP, then Wookieepedia [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page] is your go to guide. This is also incredible handy for picking up obscure references and as a resource for your characters.

Please send character sheets to me via PM. Please use this template when creating your sheet.
Force sensitives are allowed, but be sure to use them fairly. There's no fun if everybody is running around trying to out Force each other.

There are four factions to choose from, New Republic, The Imperial Remnant, the Fringe, and the Sith Ascendants.
New Republic
Following the vicious Liberation of Coruscant three years earlier, the New Republic and Imperial Remnant have declared a ceasefire. This tenuous Cold War period sees the New Republic attempting to rebuild their lost forces, but they have a strong presence in the galaxy. Coruscant is theirs, and with it comes most of the Core Worlds.
New Republic characters should work towards goals that positively affect their faction, as this Cold War will only last so long. How are they going to improve? That's up to your characters to decide. Players can be anything from X-Wing Pilots to Jedi Knights, and anything else associated with the New Republic.
Imperial Remnant
Surviving the betrayal by Darth Vader on Death Star 2, the Emperor continued his war with the Rebellion, but slowly began to lose ground. The breaking point occurred during the Liberation of Coruscant, where in his ailing health, the Emperor was captured. He was released back to the Imperial Remnant in order to negotiate a ceasefire. To acknowledge this treaty, the Imperial Remnant was allowed an Embassy on Coruscant.
However, spy networks laid by the Imperials are all through Coruscant, and several sympathizers live on the planet. Additionally, Grand Admiral Thrawn, the leader of the Imperial Fleet, has returned from the Unknown Regions, and his plans for a counterattack are coming quickly.
As Imperials, you will be fighting to regain control of your lost territories, either through combat or subterfuge. Again, how this comes about is up to you.
Fringe
This is inevitably where most of you will fall. The Fringe is everything and everyone not tied down. They work as mercs for the Republic or the Empire, or just for themselves. Will they try to tip the balance in one direction or the other, or will they try to profit off of the coming conflict? Again, the choice is yours.
Sith Ascendants
A new faction, rising from the chaos of the Outer Rim. The Sith Ascendants are led by the ruthless Sith Lord Ryn'Talos. They seek to topple both the Jedi and the Sith controlled by the Empire, and wish to build a new society from the ruins of the old.
Several worlds along the Outer Rim have already fallen to the Ascendants, either being paid off or crushed by force. Members of the Sith Ascendant can be Dark Jedi, trained by Ryn'Talos and his Magnaguard saber coaches, clones from his home grown army, or characters from planets conquered by the Ascendants. They seek the destruction of both the New Republic and the Remnant by any means possible.

The year is 9ABY. Five years have passed since the Battle of Endor, which ended with the destruction of the Second Death Star. The Emperor survived Darth Vader's betrayal, only suffering a stab wound instead of being thrown down a reactor. He then escaped, and continued his war against the Rebellion, despite his ailing body.
In 6ABY, the Liberation of Coruscant happened. The New Republic drove the Galactic Empire from the Capital after a grueling space battle, ending when the Emperor was captured by Jedi Knights, who forced the Empire to sue for peace. A tenuous ceasefire had been in effect for several years, but it wasn't to last.
Both the Jedi and the Sith were not so beaten in this alternate timeline. Far more Jedi escaped Order 66, and several Masters have come out of hiding to join Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. Building a new, smaller Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Luke's order has grown significantly, giving the New Republic the next generation of Jedi defenders.
However, the Sith too have survived. Rogue dark Jedi swearing allegiance to nobody roam the Outer Rim, intent on bringing destruction and Chaos to the galaxy. Corrupt politicians vie for power within the Empire. Criminal syndicates wage war with each other in the shadows. Jedi fall to the dark side as Bounty Hunters track down valuable targets for both factions. Increasing border skirmishes and military buildup are cause for concern.
Things went hot. Grand Admiral Thrawn, returning to the galaxy from exploration of the unknown regions, launched an attack on Coruscant, drawing the New Republic Fleets away from the border to defend the capital. The vacuum allowed the Empire to swiftly retake several planets along the Inner Rim and the Core Worlds, sparking a new war.
While this happened, A ruthless Sith Lord named Ryn'Talos began a shadow war across the outer rim, kidnapping several Jedi padawans to manipulate into an army. His actions have only been halted by a pair of Jedi desperately trying to end the conflict and save their friend, Pana'Gella, who has fallen to the Dark Side and become the Sith Ascendant's Queen.
The pieces are set in place, and now it is time to watch them fall.

This post will contain updated rules and notices as time goes on. Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.
We will always be accepting new profiles, and any player can jump in at any time. It's a big galaxy, and there's lots of stories to tell.
A big thanks to Tiger Sora for getting the idea to make this sequel RP in the first place.
UPDATE: Okay, we've got twelve characters, so we're set. I'll kick things off on Monday, and I'll PM each of you to let you know we're starting. I have a lot on this weekend, so it isn't the best time for me to launch, but Monday seems like the best time right now.
