Starcraft 2 online multi-player question.

I recently started playing the online 1v1 matches in SC2. I held it off till now because I wanted to finish all the stuff I wanted to do in the story mode (like beat it on hard). But the 1v1 matches seem much harder than the ones that I played in the beta. In the beta I was high silver low gold, but now I can't seem to get higher than high bronze. Does anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

Really? In the beta I was low Bronze, now I'm high. More people=more noobs though, maybe in the higher levels more people=more good players.

It may be due to the fact a popular strategy I've run into is to put all your effort into making 4 zealots very fast. Which I have a hard time defending against unless I do the same.

The longer the game is out the higher the skill level will rise. I know I've improved a lot post beta.
