StarCraft 2 opening builds

I'm quite the newbie when it comes to online RTS's, so I thought we could all share our favorite opening builds, and give each other some pointers to improve them.

I don't have any specific build at the moment, but I'd appreciate any suggestions on Protoss openings!

If you didn't get your hands on a beta key yet feel free to discuss favorite players, matches and/or builds anyways.

the general Zerg build is as follows:

1. Build Drones
2. Tech up to Hydras
3. Mass Hydras
4. Win
5. ??????
6. Profit

Personally, I play protoss and find that I get a lot of minerals if I build a pylon at 9/10 Psi, and my first gateway at 12/18 Psi. Then I kind of eyeball it based on when I have enough resources to build whatever I have in mind. I don't like to have unspent resources lying around, because I've lost far too many games because I had like 2000 or more minerals, but didn't bother spending them on things that could make my opponent explode.
