Starcraft 2 worth playing?

So I havnt really played any RTS since age of empires 1 2 and 3

I have no doubt that starcraft 2 is a great RTS and I find the sci fi setting to be quite apealing

BUT my main question is can it stand alone without multiplayer? is the single player campagn decent enough? since the game is pretty expensive

also I may have herd somthing nagative about the DRM though Im not sure

Yes it can stay. The missions are nicely varied, and you also have skrmish against the AI

i actually enjoyed the single player campaign much more than getting my ass kicked online. it is most likely, the greatest RTS campaign ever made.
