It won't matter to me unless they start charging for battle.net, in which case I'd uninstall and immediately sell the game on ebay or amazon.

Same with me. The starcraft team can just siphon money from the WoW team if they feel like they're losing anything.

I think just all the South Koreans that buy this game alone are gonna make 'em a profit, the rest is just the icing on the cake. But you've got a point. Blizzard must be literally swimming in money.

SC2, D3, continuous patches for WoW/new expansion, their unannounced MMO and yet another unannounced project they've got in the works. Not to mention things like legal fees/taxes/hardware maintenance and whatnot.

So while they've got a lot of money going in it'll probably be flowing out a fair bit as well.

Yeah, but realistically, there's no way in hell SC2 and D3 won't make money. The unannounced projects are not sure to be winnners, but if SC2 and D3 come out and are good, Blizzard's reputation will just get even better, meaning people might buy them just 'cause they're by Blizzard. They definitley seem like the most secure PC Developer out there right now. The only other PC Game Developer that even comes close I can think of right now is Valve.

This is true. Blizzard developers know that removing LAN won't have a significant impact on piracy. My opinion is that they are trying to slowly (yet shamelessly) create a system in which they charge people for "the privilege of playing on their servers," as they do with WoW.

It's possible. It's the EA principle, once you're big and fat enough, you can do whatever you want and it doesn't make a difference, people will still buy your games. God would that piss me off.

Edit: And considering they've been bought by Activision, it actually would make a lot of sense for them to pull this kind of dick move now. They have become part of an evil corporation.
