people ought to have higher standards than admire the story of this piece of crap in any way, shape or form that's not ironic.
I don't remember reading anywhere, except on a forum anything even close to praise of the story. Most you can find is something along the lines of "it's ok" "it was a fun romp" "it's fine". So, I don't think you need to worry about people praising the wrong parts of Starcraft 2. What was praised about the original is the same that is praised in the sequel, gameplay, it was always gameplay.

If you want to argue with fanboys, well good luck with that, but you'll need to do a lot better than your binary logic of it's either awesome or awful. That's the same logic fanboys use and your point is equally mute.

I am really wondering how they are going to segway into the Zerg campaign. Is Kerrigan gonna go rogue and start taking command of zergs as a human? Will she continue working with Raynor or start working against him? Just because she isn't Zerg anymore doesn't mean her mindset has changed.
Something tells me she might slip away from Jimmy's side for fear that he would either a.) get hurt or b.) get in the way of her new Zerg/Human machinations.

That said, I'm fairly certain she might still keep him up-to-date and/or get help from him every so often.

At the end of the first campaign, we saw that she seemed happy to see him. She was pleased (or so it seemed) to be freed of the vicious Zerg mind that had basically turned her into a megalomaniacal villain (which is funny, because for a long time she was extremely clever and even outsmarted Protoss on multiple occasions before that...).

So yeah, something tells me her mindset will be something closer to when she was human, but she may see it as her responsibility to transform the Zerg into something that can help the universe.

Also, somewhat off-topic, but I had a dream last night about the Heart of the Swarm campaign starting with Kerrigan wandering around and gathering up Zerg ala Brood War's early Zerg mission.

Fluttershy: The Queen ***** of the Universe?... Zerg, take me.

OT: I'm not really sure how the store could continue unless Kerrigan has some stupid way of controlling zerg even though her zerg DNA or whatever got destroyed. I mean, sure there are going to be remains of zerg running around but according to the first SC, zerg without an Overmind (Kerrigan) are just wild animals.

Personally, they should of place the zerg campaign before terran so Kerrigan is still infested and have a proper way to control zerg, plus how doesn't want to throw the Queen ***** of the Universe around with her Razor Swarm?

This trailer really didn't do anything for me...but that doesn't stop this game from being on my must own list. Can't wait to complete the trilogy!

Hey, if I can actually articulate why something is awesome or awful, it by definition is better than fanboy logic. Furthermore, just because I said this one's horrid, doesn't mean in any way that my rating system is two extremes with no middle ground.
Fanboys articulate well all the time, I don't see how your point is more valid because you articulate too.

As for your rating system, you're right, I can't claim that, all I have to go on is this thread, but here you claim Starcraft 2 story is horrid and Warcraft 3 story is amazing. As someone who likes them both, and sees them both as equally flawed and great in different areas i had a hard time coming to a different conclusion.

Gotta handle it to Mr. Kotick - he sure knows how to cut development costs.
Hell, that Activision/Blizzard merge was so successful: no more thoughtful stories, less gorgeous CGIs, shit ass region locks, 3x60$ for what should've been one damn MIND BLOWING experience etc.
The game got more and better CGI...
Blizzard got the best CGI in-house studio in the game industry, even Pixar praise them in a interview after they visit Blizzard's CGI studio.
Also Starcraft 2: HotS and Starcraft 2: LotV are called expansion packs and are charged as expansions. (confirmed)
4 CGIs: The Deal, The Prophecy, The Betrayal and The Showdown. The real, high quality vids Blizz Film is known for; not some cheap engine rendered crap. Out of these four, three were used as trailers. More and better? Yeah, right.
Though, the overall quality of their film studio works was never in question.
As for the price - how much is an expansion in Blizz world? 40$?

So, is there like only one guy who makes the trailers for everything? I hate the shit out of that discordant rising strings noise that is in every single one of them.

It's possible that the Zerg didn't show up here because they're getting a big visual facelift. There was some Samwise art a while back with some jungle fruit-themed Zerg designs. I kind of hope they were just for side mission stuff, but what the hell, it won't even bother me when the Zerg turn good like the orcs did in Warcraft 3 as long as it's not more fucking Terrans.

But whatever, we're playing Kerrigan, so we get the Terrans anyway. More Mengsks and Raynor, what the fuck is a Protoss?

Goddamn I miss the Overmind. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down and BEHOOOLLLLDDD for a while.

OMG IT'S NOVA! Maybe SC: Ghost is right around the corner.
She appeared in Starcraft 2: WoL as well. Nothing new.
However in that Blizzard China leak awhile ago there was a Starcraft related project titled Starcraft: Phoenix (I think?) which could be a rebirth of SC:Ghost.

Support means grounding it at least somewhat in fact as to not make it completely subjective. Having good reason for the opinion, in other words.
I know what support means, but I don't really see it here.

I see you making a divisive statement to open up a discussion and then enjoying yourself too much in defending it, same thing in the Diablo 3 thread.

Basically, I don't see a point in further discussion, I agree that Blizzard has done better before, but I don't agree that because of that Starcraft 2 is a "padded piece of shit".

oooo Nova... I like where this is going already.
I hope this doesn't end with Nova getting killed... I like Nova =(
But as much as I like her, I wouldn't hesitate an instant to kill her if it meant Kerrigan lives.
