Well as I said earlier, I enjoy SC2 except for the varying difficulty curve between missions. And the final mission proves it again, I am so stuck on that one. Only mission in the game, I'm completely hating. (I excluded the air enemies.)But I just get over-run at like 90%, people suggest building bunkers, and bunkers I am building, but the Zerg tear them down within seconds. Even at 20%, any suggestions? (Without giving away spoilers to the readers of course.

(Yes I place, lot's of repairmen near the bunkers, 8 on each side..)
well, I found that a largish fleet of Battlecruisers and Banshees worked really well (I took out the air enemies first)
Depends what your facing. Siege Tanks are good against ground forces, as are Banshee's. Vikings are good against air units, as are Goliaths. I have a group of 4-6 goliaths, mostly Spartan mercenaries, that patrol my base and run to hotspots.

Also, don't be afraid to fire off the artifact.

Like I said, I had taken out the air units in the mission before the final one, so I had no need of anti-air units or defense. So a few bunkers, a couple of siege tanks and the victory fleet made the mission smooth sailing.

Beat the campaign last night. Blizzard could stand to poach a few writers from Bioware, but cheesy dialogue aside that was one damn fine game.

Really well done so far, I'm at the totally unforseen part where you play the protoss section missions.

Solid RTS, nothing spectacular for me so far though. Very well done, good story, good visuals, great cutscenes, varied mission-types to keep it interesting, all in all its a good game. Like I said though, for me, there is nothing here to make it into that great game.

To be fair, this is all based solely on SP. I prefer to only play MP against people I know, and I have very few friends who play RTS games.

P.S. I friggin hate pop caps.

The mission difficulty curve is out of whack, but that's my only gripe with it so far. One mission, you can breeze through without having to do anything,(Yes Mining Laser mission YOU) and the other mission you are spending 50 minutes, proceeding painstakingly through the map. (Yes I try to do all the side-missions.)

Luckily, I walked into a random gaming store, saw the StarCraft sign and asked if I was out of line to ask for a regular SC2 copy, to which he replied; 'No I have a couple left, even two special editions and, ooh one Collectors Edition.' Guess which I took home. ^^
You realize that the Campaign is not linear. Playing through all the Tychus missions at once will give you a fucked up curve. It's not easy to balance something as open as SC2's campaign.

I have no trouble with the mission difficulty as of yet, though.

that game is everything I wanted:
simplified buttons, no limit on selectable units (thank GOD) and the cherry on top of this epic sundae:
Protoss storyline!...with reveals 8D
also, in between missions' armory, Lab and cantina are perfect for extra warfare options

It's okay.

The voice acting is kinda slow, painfully reminding me of Dragon Age. The story itself is of course going to be botched up in a Spielberg happy ending but anyone who didn't see THAT coming didn't play warcraft.

Explosions especially feel unrealistic. I'm kinda expecting there to be spiky bubbles saying "BOOM!" "BAM!".

There's a hologram of a dancing night elf in the cantina. Whoever came up with that idea should have the seed of foot planted in his behind.

Coming off overly negative, I DO love it. But I also believe they could have done far better given the time it spent in the making. I'm also worried about how the next two parts will manage to one up the first. As far as I've gotten everything just seems to get wrapped up neatly.

That would be true, if that's what I did. But no I alternated the missions, and the game is still fairly linear because you have to have done all of the missions before you can 'progress' and gain acess to new ones.

I approve. I just finished the campaign and agree that it is fantastic. Classic RTS, nothing more, but it executes it so well.

Now to get my ass kicked on the battle net.

I caved and bought it earlier today... it's heartbreakingly good. I am a starcraft/blizzard hater, and I wanted to see this game fail, but its just so good. I cant stop playing it. ...I feel a sickness coming on... also my hand hurts from playing it so much. !!!!!
