Why is it only about the rush? Makes games SO boring. I have to rush in order to have a chance at winning. I am about a 50-50 split for my win/loss just cuz when u rush u r basically flipping a coin on whether u will be successful or not but...

I wish I could just get a game that went longer than 12 minutes...

So choose to play a slower paced game than Starcraft? That's how the game works, there are plenty of slower (and imo better) RTS titles out there.

Might I mention you may want to edit the title to more than SC, maybe "Starcraft"

But aye, I'm no RTS player but maybe look for a more slower paced one im sure there are plenty about.

May I suggest using the full name of a game and actually mentioning it in the OP?

I assumed you meant Splinter Cell, and upon reading the OP I still had no idea what the thread was about. The fact that I only know by peoples answers is a pretty bad thing for someone trying to make a thread.

I thought this was about the state of South Carolina.
I am severely disappointed.

And pretty much any RTS game is about rushing others.

That said, the rush seems to be a staple of StarCraft multiplayer.

If you are talking about the 6 pool thing then it is fixed. If you mean rush in general, you are just really un-lucky. I don't rush people but rather wait for them to attack then counter attack most of the time except for some front door taps.

It's only a rush if it manages to wipe you out. Otherwise, it's just harassing.

In some games, a rush is a strategy with no real counter, or the counter is so unintuitive you can't be sure what works. I haven't played much Starcraft, but I can tell you that in Impossible Creatures, the best way to stop a rush is not the intuitive method of building base defenses. The best way to stop a rush in some games is to reach a level where you can build a really badass unit, and let that unit invalidate the rush.

This is starcraft its like chess. Rush is a strategy that can be shut down so eaasily. It has a prefect balance. I never thought i'd say this but. The OP just sucks

Because rushdown can be a very effective tactic in Soul Calibur...assuming that you know what mixups are and that your opponent is none too good at guard impacts.

That's actually why I like the second game in the series more. It gives more defensive options, and 8-way run is stronger than in later incarnations.
