And so, with the defeat of DIO, ends JoJo's Bizarre Adventure III: Stardust Crusaders. It was a long journey, filled with laughter, sadness and certain lack of logic, which is however compensated with the pure ammount of pure coolness and badassitude.
I want you to share your thoughts about it (and probably about parts I and II too, if you wish).
I'll start with a bit of a prelude: I still to this day think that Jonathan is my favourite JoJo. I mean, he is strong, honest, kind-hearted, but knows when to form a fist. Basically, he is what Kenshiro would have been if it wasn't for the harsh environment of post-apocalyptic world (that's all IMO). I liked Joseph, but sometimes he acted like a punk. I think I like him older. Jotaro, however, is one of my least favourite protagonists. I think it's because his ONLY trait was "badass", i.e. he isn't that deep of a character. Star Platinum is cool and is one of my most liked Stands, but Jotaro himself? Not so much. BUT I by no means DISLIKE him.
With this out of the way, I have to say this series was AMAZING. It had great battle scenes (both those that are pure brawl and those that required wits), great comedic scenes and everything was well animated. Not without flaws though. Those flaws were present in the manga too, but still:
- In part I, Erina escaped in DIO's coffin. What happens in part III? Sailors discover DIO's coffin with DIO in it. *Slowclap*
- At the start of the series, DIO also uses Hermit Purple. Reason for it (as far as I know) is that the creator wanted DIO to have access to ALL Stands, but later thought that it was an overkill. Still, it IS a flaw.
There are probably more, which I don't quite remember. Still, it was really enjoyable to watch and I am eagerly awaiting for anime-version of part IV. Someone needs to Bite the Dust.
P.S. Also, for all it's flaws, 1993 OVA had better poker match (IMO).
