Stargate Worlds Now Taking Beta Applications

Stargate Worlds [http://www.stargateworlds.com], the in-development MMOG based on the hit television series, is now accepting applications for its upcoming closed beta period.

Invitations to the beta testing will be sent out beginning this spring, giving chosen gamers the chance to sample the game while providing feedback to the developers about the game experience and performance. More testers will be added over the spring and summer in order to test the game servers under increased stress load.

"A game is nothing without players," said Dan Elggren, studio head for Stargate Worlds. "We're fired up to finally get our game in the hands of the community. We're at the point where we need external testers to take Stargate Worlds to the finish line. Our devoted fans have helped guide us for more than two years through our forums. Together, we're going to craft a balanced, polished, and most of all, fun game."

Stargate Worlds is based on the StargateWorlds.com [http://stargate.mgm.com/sg1/].

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, but to be honest I don't have too much hope for it. Most MMOs are incredibly similar (we all know that) and it's just a matter of finding one you like and sticking to it. I hope to be proven wrong, of course.

I'm wondering how you are going to play an Asgard, considering they lack... alot of things in terms of physical form.

And pants.

But I might just sign up, considering I love Stargate with the passion a moose expresses towards another moose in rut. Or is that in heat? Either way, I'm crazy for it.
