I've been going into Games Workshop more frequently as of late. I've already decided on which side I'm going to play (Tyranids) I've just been looking through all the possible army builds so far.

The ones I'm currently looking at are these two.
Nidzilla - I get a bunch of Carnifexes and pimp them out, no small units at all, a few warriors to stomp on units unworthy of Carnifex face plantage and maybe a few rippers for teh lulz.

Rush-y-nids (I forgot it's actual name) - Shitloads of weak spammy units with some warriors to keep the strength of my army up so I don't get raped by people with flamethrowers.

I'm leaning more towards the first one, I've already worked out points costs and stuff I just need to actually get the Carnifexes to do it. However I'm open to any army suggestions the Escapist's 40k players have to give me, for Tyranids that is.

Edit, I could do both since I'm already loaded down with all the gaunts and genestealers my uncle gave me. He's been buying the stuff cheap and selling it on Ebay xD I mean both as in "One at a time depending on how mean to the other player I'd like to be"

I'd say Rush-y-nids. That way, from the start, your opponent is thinking "Oh shit, there's hundreds of them!". The only downside is painting a few million 'nids.

If you do that, paint them to a minimum quality.

I don't half-ass my painting, ever, so that'd be kind of hard. I should've added a poll to this.

Edit: Oh, and when I played the Battle for Maccragge (I can't even spell that name. It's so retarded) the Tyranid units in it were so cannon fodder it wasn't funny. Which is what I generally want. Cannonfodder weak units that make the enemy shit their pants when I pull out a thousand tiny little alien miniatures.

I'd change my answer to Nid-Zilla then. I didn't half-ass my painting with an all Night Goblin WFB army and that took weeks. It was worth it in the end though.

I'd probably still paint them anyway since it'd be a waste not to, my uncle gave me a shitload of the Tyranid miniatures that didn't sell on Ebay.

I'd go with the second option but adding some heavy armor guys into your army, I wish I could help more, but I'm a N008 at this

I don't play Warhammer anymore, but I used to, on and off. The lore still fascinates and intrigues me, but it's simply too expensive, and I frankly don't have the space.

After some quick Googling, I found this article on "quickly adding good-looking detail on your army without spending a ridiculous amount of time on painting". I hope it helps.

Get about 2000 points of nids and then start collecting another race for appocalypse allies if you get bored.

Option 1 sounds cool.

Also what's your paint scheme?

Not sure yet. I was thinking purple chitin with spots or stripes of orange and just green skin but something else might work.

Aiming to make people's eyes bleed with my paint scheme as well as make them shit themselves when they see all my carnifexes.
