Ok I searched so now that's out of the way.

In the movies did they ever throw the saber. In games saber throw is right up there with force push as a main "power". Thinking back I can never remember in any of the movies even the new emo vader ones. If they where in the cartoons I would not know so yeah. Can anyone think of any time out side of games they used this?

It curves around the back of the throne room, I think.

They can't throw their lightsabers (being a former star wars nerd i would know) because it shuts off if it leaves the users hands. But Vader modded his so he could throw it in Return Of the Jedi (i think it was that movie).

Think about in Clone Wars, when Kanobis lightsaber gets falls it shuts off.

I thought the failsafe to shut it off only worked if it was heavily jarred, like when they drop it. No?

Episode III: Yoda throws his lightsabre into one of the Clone troopers while he and Obi-Wan are retaking the Jedi Temple. Then he jumps up on the dying clone and pulls the lightsabre out again. (It very clearly did NOT turn off when he did this, but I suppose he could use the force to keep it on. He's fuckin' YODA.)

Episode VI: Vader throws his lightsabre and severs the supports for a catwalk while trying to find Luke, who is hiding, during their fight before the Emperor. It wasn't entirely clear how he got it back, though. In which case, a wizard did it.
