Hang on...I've SEEN this before! Yeah, there was another webcomic with the exact same setup and joke...except when the guy said 'YOLO' he meant it as a caution (i.e. Hey, we only live once so if we screw this up; we're dead!)

Here it is! http://www.virtualshackles.com/343

BTW NOT suggesting plagarism, just observing.

Why do I get the impression the guy who got turned into a zombie is a new breed of zombie that uses echo location via his favorite catch word in life?

Yeah, I actually had to look up YOLO a few months back because people kept complaining about it. That's the weird thing, while people keep saying they get so annoyed by folks using the acronym, it's really only through these complainers that I even came across it in the first place.

Well, technically, zombies aren't living, so any attempts at ironic humour are sadly misplaced.
Smartass sense, tingling!

Zombification is a ethnographic phenomena reported in Haiti whereby a person is said to enter a kind of trance and becomes highly suggestible, often believing themselves to be a dead person. It's not clear why this happens or even whether it actually does happen in the way the few ethnographers who have reported it claim it does.

For a long time, this was what "Zombie" meant in popular culture. See films like White Zombie. It's only later on that Zombie became conflated with the idea of dead people coming to life, which is a common belief in many cultures.

So actually, "zombies" in real life are living. Maybe not culturally, but certainly medically. Then again, it's also unlikely they ever really "died".

I actually have some friends who use YOLO like there's no tomorrow, so for example they'll say it when going to the grocery store. They haven't done it in a while but when they do, I swear I feel my brain cells commit suicide.

I have never heard these supposed masses saying "YOLO". I have only heard the masses complaining about people who say YOLO.

Me too...same with Justin Bieber a while back.
Then both of you have obviously never been on twitter.
Or the internet.

I think, some people have good taste and simply avoid sites that have that epic a level of D-bag frat***ery

I had no idea what this was until now either and i've been online since the days of er.. 'modem music',
so.. i doubt it's a newbie issue.
Ah modem music..... Brings back such memories... Having to coordinate your internet use with the phone use of others, calling people and getting screeched at.... Kids today have no idea about that.

To them I say:

This is what happened EVERY time you wanted to go online back in the 1990's

Great to see people playing State of Decay. Love it, it's the best zombie survival simulation I've seen in a long, long time.

YOLT just doesn't have the same ring to it...

Maybe YOZO, you only zombie once? Sounds like a new Japanese dance craze.

As a former HvZer, I have to say, it's not these guys getting themselves killed that's annoying so much as when they take a bunch of other people down with them because they were too stupid to listen.

Stupid humans make for stupid zombies (in the game, not usually in the mythology.)Smart humans brought down because an idiot tagged along, on the other hand...

"It's like zombie Mardi Gras down there."

She reeeeally should have chosen a better metaphor there. He might not have realized that he was actually in any danger.
