anyone notice how there are no recent stealth games? and i don't mean stealth like assassins creed i mean like the stealth from splinter cell and thief, no more games like that makes me sad ):

some parts of mgs4 are really stealthy, and they're making a new splinter cell, also there's nother II world war game being made called saboteur

Most people don't like the pace of stealth games. My friend and I were playing a Co-Op FPS which I've forgotten, and I said we should hide behind some crates (always crates...) and wait for one to approach, take him out with a knife, then take out the others in a similarly stealthy fashion.
He threw a grenade at me, then shotgun-d the fuckers. Ironically, the grenade part actually helped him. The AI ran over to check out the suspicious burning corpse leaping eighteen feet into the air, and he ran up behind and went apeshit.

Honestly, you could cite two games from any genre and say that that style of game has "pretty much Been Done." I for one love stealth games, especially the Thief series. While I'm on the subject of trying to think of more games in the genre, would anyone consider the Hitman series to be among them, assuming one isn't trying to be a Mass Murderer? Surely it's not always sticking to the shadows, but hiding in plain sight is also an excellent tactic.GloatingSwine said:

I thought Splinter Cell was the most boring game I owned. Not that I didn't enjoy the sleathing around, everything just seemed very slow. Couldn't get into it at all.

The AI is so damn inconsistent though. If you use a dart rifle and silenced weapons sometimes the enemy will never find you and walk right past your face...and sometimes they can spot you at night from 2 kliks away.the rusk said:In Far Cry 2 you can be pretty stealthy if you want. Yeah I know what you mean, but for the most part the AI works fine. Tis just annoying trying to gauge which enemy to take out first. I'm going to agree with the bit about MGS4. Especially if you're going for the Big Boss emblem. Now that requires super stealth (which is better than regular stealth).k3v1n said:

Hey, atleast we don't get a huge overflow in them unlike some certain FPS generes that are fucking EVERYWHERE!.
While there aren't many stealth games out at the moment, I think it's a nice pace of stealth games without to many or to little coming out. Maybe an extra 2 or 3 will be nice.
